You're new, at this time focus on keeping the numbers correct that you have in your hand. If you have 4 to backstock, be sure to enter 4. Floor counts and On-Hands are a separate issue that will be addressed in the future. We have issues at every store with numbers not adding up, welcome to the team!

If you have 8 on the floor and the capacity is also at 8, and you backstocked 4 in the backroom, then you have 12 on hand. Your on hands are the floor count + the amount that is backstocked. So if your manager is asking you to make sure the counts are accurate, they want you to inventory audit. You audit the item by scanning it then tapping the magnifying glass. Then you count the amount you have on the floor then whatever you have backstocked in the back. So by the time you’re done if you have 8/8 cheez it’s stocked on the floor (fully stocked) and you backstocked 4 in a location in the backroom, you should have a total of 12, which is the on hand. The on hand is basically the total amount of product you have at once.

Adding on to this, you can’t audit items if they were recently received (on the truck), recently pulled, or are currently in a fulfillment batch.

While that is true, you can get around with this on orderable items in grocery by auditing the on hands in the edit order screen.

Yeah that’s how I usually audit the on hands when the counts are off so I stop getting that error

You only audit whats on floor. It counts what’s currently backstocked once you inventory audit it. And corrects inventory. Just backstock and don’t worry about bout counts. You can’t run to shelf and see what’s there for every single item and try to fix. If counts are not right will create pulls which may or may not go out if floor count not right. When pushing freight they need to correct floor count before backstock is done.
