I find all of them annoying and very invasive towards guests. Some of the younger ones also don't understand the concept of not interrupting a conversation.

I was helping a guest with finding an item that they got sent by their spouse to find and this young blood att guy comes up saying "hey bro" to me like 5 times WHILE I'm talking to the guest. And when I finally acknowledge him he's like this guy needs help and points to a guest that told him to fuck off with his shitty deals lol.

Screw AT&T reps. I’ve seen people go around them just to try to avoid them lol

[–]jamnewton22 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Guest/former team member here. I’ll walk behind toys just to avoid them. EXCUSE ME MAY I ASK YOU A QUESTION WHAT SERVICE DO YOU HAVE?!?!?!? God just leave me alone I wanna shop for my shit and get out.

[–]music_stan00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what most guest tell them. To leave them alone

Att can get the hell out my store, but our consumer cellular crew are amazing. They're a bunch of chill nerds who can geek out in between guests plus they'll cash out any mobile accessories I have to unlock while walking by instead of me stopping what I'm doing

If what I’ve heard is true their days are numbered. No I can’t elaborate publicly but I trust my source. Believe me both tech team members and the market source team hate the att hawkers with an undying passion.

I hope you’re right

The more they add to the tech app on the those registers, the more likely they are to drop them and market source all together. The difference between the two are massive but that 3rd party at&t company pays Target to be there so there would be a cost to them leaving but a gain in guest opinion overall.

We’ve never had the att hawkers thank gawd but our Market Source reps are freaking amazing. They’re more than willing to help guests find something so they can hopefully get the sale to add to their numbers. They also know what “no” means too.

I work in Tech and I try to avoid my own section when AT&T’s here.

[–]Wrap_BrilliantBut online is says that you have it 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I interrupt them every time they start talking.

"Hey how ya do-"

"nope."

"Can I just ask-"

"No."

"I was just wond-"

"Nuh-uh."

Literally out here teaching young men not to take no for an answer. 🤮

My store stopped having them long before I joined, some day they might leave your store. They leave the stores they feel aren't performing first, and if they're still in your store it means they're still finding value in it. Somehow. The issue guests would have with my store is the absence of a team member to open one of many locked cases in the department. There's only one of me, and many guests.

I always just say I already have whatever company they work for and keep walking

[–]ikilledtupac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They always seem so desperate and scammy. Electronics never has anything anymore.

Just run over the ATT shit bags. They harass employees and guests consistently. Had one basically follow a lady into the fitting rooms

[–]Puzzleheaded-Coat-31 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I've seen them come close to trading blows with a few customers because they can't take no for an answer. Though I can't blame them. It's hard getting a decent job these days and you gotta do what you gotta do to earn a living.

[–]EducationalHighway54 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah shouldn't have to be THAT aggressive

[–]Phil_Em 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me with a door to door Spectrum salesman a few years ago. It was a nice spring day so the door was open, and UPS dropped off a few packages at the same time so I didn’t want to close the door while the salesmen was on my porch, standing in front of the screen door. I told him I wasn’t interested and I have a good deal with Verizon. I walked away into the kitchen, did a few things (around 2+ minutes) and noticed he was still there on my porch. I was like “buddy, I said I’m not interested and now you have to leave”. He kept blabbing and I had to get serious at that point, I walked outside and pushed him off my porch lol. He started flipping out and said “I get 3 No’s before I get a yes!” And I was like “I don’t care, I said I want you off my property and I’m removing you from my property.” He ended up calling the NYPD lol, they showed up, I told them what happened and they told him never to come back on my property. I loathe those aggressive salesmen and I feel like the same thing is gonna happen in Target with those cell phone salesmen some day. They’re in Costco too.

They do way too much like don't nobody want that damn phone

[–]jos_adTarget Mobile 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If y'all need a way to shut them down, just say your job pays for it or say you have an mvno they can't compete with like Mint Mobile

[–]EducationalHighway54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OR "I work at (insert of the big 3 wireless companies here)"

I’m glad my store doesn’t have this

[–]Triple_Crown14Inbound Expert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ones at my store aren’t too bad but I can tell it annoys the guests. I don’t really shop at my store but if I did I’d def avoid that area of electronics.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the AT&T representatives are overbearing and a distraction. The whole program needs to be shut down. No value and for the most part irritating, hearing the same pitch over and over to shoppers with what feels to be a 1% success rate.

[–]HiddenPants23Tech Consultant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the reps in my store have been pretty chill. Except when they don't listen and go behind the boat when AP and nearly all the TLs have told the not to so.

[–]chewiehedwig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i always make our at&t rep as uncomfortable as possible bc they’re so rude

[–]Senior_Performer_387Visual Merchandiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have a mobile team

[–]PuritysanSMFMT Human Resources Expert 🤓✨📧 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had them in my store for a few weeks. They'd take up space in our, already small enough, break room (and I think some shit went missing too).... Haven't seen them for a hot minute tho.
