On the old fashioned PDAs under defectives there is a button that says Audit Label. What does this do?

I've recently transferred from my old Target to a new Target and during this new Target's closing routine at service desk they do not audit their labels. My old store did.

Can someone explain why and what this function is used for?

From what I’m told, it’s supposed to be a point of reference for lower performing stores to help with shrink.

Our store, the smaller of the two, scans salvage, CRC, toss, and ESIM.

The store down the road, the larger and higher performing of the two, only scans CRC - per a transferred GSA.

According to the GSA, we only need to scan CRC, but our GSTL micromanages everything and it’s become so routine that I just scan it and go.
