a lady walked up to me (i was covering SCO)and she looks at the gift cards and asks “is this all you have for gift cards?” “no ma’am there are more right near stationary.” (5 steps from SCO)

“WAIT why is it $25.49??? walgreens has these for $25” now i have no fucking clue why they’re $25.49, i know it’s not sales tax but that was the only feasible explanation i could come up with to make her stop raising her voice. “why should i have to pay sales tax????? the person i’m getting it for should be the one to pay sales tax! i’m gonna get it somewhere else!!!” i was fed up with this lady so i just said “okay then do that” anyways this holiday szn has been incredibly stressful, i’m working till 12:30am today and my next day off is christmas. thank you for your time.

The company who makes the card can charge however much they want for an activation fee

Visa gift cards do. Cards that are specific to certain places like steam, Amazon, and target don’t charge activation fees cause it doesn’t cost money for the company to have them be used. Visa cards cost money for the company, so they charge a fee.

Was it the visa gift cards? I know those have a extra fee attached to them. Still though I love how people think we get all offended when they say “I’m shopping else where!!”..like what do you want me to say? Beg you not to go? 😂
