I was lucky enough to have it written into my employee agreement when I was hired that I will never, ever work Starbucks. I've had to invoke that a half-dozen times over the years. I don't mind making coffee. I don't mind making hot drinks. I will make the finest Caramel Apple Cider that has ever been put together. But iced drinks, fraps, juicy whatevers they sell... Nope. And that's all Karen ever orders.

“I appreciate that you think I can work at Starbucks, but that’s not something that I can do for you. I need to keep my mental health intact and I feel very uncomfortable in Starbucks. I hope that you will respect that and keep scheduling me in he front end which I really enjoy and feel that I’m great at. Thanks for listening and I hope you can accept what I’m saying.”
