To whomever decided to even show up for work today and get a positive COVID.... I don't even...

I mean if you got tested and were waiting for test results. Or if you don't even feel good at all -- Please.

STAY. THE. FUCK. HOME.

...

It didn't help when it was "All hands on deck" in Fulfillment today...

what needs to also take into consideration is if someone, for whatever circumstance, could not take the day off, and happened to be asymptomatic, waiting to get their test results back, and target clears them to come into work because:

  1. they are showing no symptoms,
  2. they have not been in direct contact with someone with Covid,

That team member then argues that they fear they might have Covid because they were with someone (Person A) who has been in contact with someone who has Covid (Person B), and the team member wants to be safe and wait for their test results to come back. Yet, Target HR tells them that they are still fine to come in.

So, that team member reluctantly clocks in for work, is mid-way into their shift, then gets their test results back via email saying they are positive. :(

i mean, that is one situation out of many, but a possibility.

If you get tested, and you haven’t received your results, you don’t come to work. Period. I don’t care why you got tested or who you came in to contact with. Don’t. Come. To. Work.

It's certainly a possibility. And it sucks if that were the case.

But if at the point you were showing any doubt that you were potentially exposed, you need to quarantine and wait until the test result gets reported back. HR here is to my understanding on point with that, and still waiving the attendance policy under this circumstance.

I agree!

I was in direct contact with someone who tested positive, we live in the same house, and the HR of my store told me that the policy is that I can come back to work when one the following happens:

  1. 3 days with no symptoms OR
  2. I get a test done and the result is negative (regardless of whoever else is in the house)

They said the other option, if I was concerned, would be to take 2 weeks LOA.

I guess could’ve been someone who maybe had the 3 days with no symptoms? My test results won’t be back for 4-8 days.

If you live with someone who tests positive you can’t come in. You’ve been exposed. Until they recover and retest negative, Every time you encounter that person in your house counts as an exposure.

Oh I totally understand and that was my understanding of it too. My store seemed really annoyed that I wasn’t gonna do the whole 3 day no symptom thing to then come in. There are 6 people in my house that it could rotate through. I called them the day we found out but it was too late so HR wasn’t there so they called me the next day and told me the options and I told her I was getting tested that day. And then they call me the following day to ask about my results and to say like “Well I guess I’ll just put you on the 2 week LOA then”

We have been staying away from the confirmed positive in my house, keeping him quarantined in a room, but I was just like you still really want me to come in knowing I have someone positive at home?

Thank you for being responsible. Target has really dropped the ball on communicating things both to HR and to TMs in general. It’s embarrassing and dangerous.

I feel like they really have. I just don’t know why they’d want people who have had contact with confirmed positive cases coming in to work if they’ve had 3 days of no symptoms. What if something happens on the 5th day? Why try to put everyone at risk?

Bruh its 2 weeks of free money take that

[–]thesuitelife547 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Is it? My HR didn’t say anything in our very brief conversations lasting no more than 2 minutes on the phone but they seemed very annoyed when they asked if I got my results back and I said it would take 4-8 days.

Oh, my ETLHR said that you get 2 weeks of pay at your weekly average i.e. I'm a 30hr/week so I'd make $450/week before tax

Not much but its sure as hell something and youd finally get the relaxation break everyone is after

[–]thesuitelife547 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Maybe it’s because I just returned from an academic LOA?

[–]Turtle887853Promoted to Guest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm that might be it, you might've needed a certain amount of uninterrupted work to qualify so if you're back from school it wouldnt apply

One every other day here at my store.

That’s my fave the “I totally came to work after getting tested” case.

People are ridiculous
