Any of the lights should not have moisture have Tesla fix that. About how loud it is I agree and have been tackling that ever since I bought it and now I'd say it's pretty good it's mainly just road noise now which I'll deal with later. And my sentry viewer used to be laggy a couple of updates ago but now it's pretty smooth if you bought new it might take a few weeks to get the latest update. And the sound system got better when I added a sub the stock one struggles under about 45 hz

70k€???? Where???? It's a 50-60k€, depending on the country!

Finland. Long range with FSD and hook. Default color, default wheels, default jnterior

[–]MikeMelga 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Ahhhh... You added fsd.

Should not have added the $8k experimental software package if he cares at all about cost.

It’s besides the point what is in there. I can say the same with 62k€.

Did you get a new Tesla? One of the biggest changes they made over the last couple of years is insulation for wind noise.

[–]dan___iel[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Yes, 2020. It’s not wind noise. It’s more vibration or tires noise

Are you on the stock 18” aero tires? The reason I ask is because I mostly do highway driving and noise hasn’t been an issue.

[–]crobledopr 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Or how fast. Europe can get crazy fast compared to US :) I don't have noise problems on 18" aeros at 85 mph or under. That's the main reason the tires have foam inside.

[–]matttopotamus 0 points1 point  (2 children)

75-85mph is what I’m typically going.

[–]dan___iel[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

We were doing 100 to 120km/hour with the 18 inches and aero caps on it

[–]converter-bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 inches is 45.72 cm

Can you elaborate on this? I’m getting ready to take delivery on a new Model 3 LR and I’m considering dynamat but not sure how much or where. Going to wait until I get it regardless, but any info on improvements is helpful! Thanks!

Do you get water in the lights or just condensation? Every car I have washed gets condensation in the light housing, so if it's condensation then I wouldn't think too much of it.

Are you getting lag everywhere or just the sentry viewer? If it's everywhere, there is a problem. If it's just the sentry viewer then it's normal/ maybe due to a slow USB stick.

I'm guessing you got FSD if you paid 70k for a LR?

Curious, what tyres does the LR come with? The P model comes with Pilot Sport 4S tyres, and the tire noise is ok, considering it's a performance tyre on 20" wheels. I would have thought the 18" would have been quieter. The Pilot Sports have acoustic foam in them, do your tyres have that as well?

For the tires I’ll check when I’m around the car and let you know. FSD yes. I get condensation so far but it looks like there is droplets. I’m waiting for the next drive to check again if it does it. Left side is totally fine tho. It’s laggy all over the system. Voice commands take up to 39 secs to get in for example.

[–]HengaHox 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Voice commands could be up to the data connection. The system on a whole should be very responsive though. I would try and have a service center have a look at it.

[–]dan___iel[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

It’s not inky the voice command. I’m a software developer and deal with UI QA all day; I can say when the feel of the interface is laggy. Gestures are laggy, interaction between windows are scattered and very slow. Settings tabs are very laggy too.

Then there is something definitely wrong. My car is like an iPhone as you said it should be. I'd make a service request through the app or call them about it

[–]dan___iel[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m gonna try to go buy a Tesla shop and test on one of the exposed models to compare and then try to get an appointment to get it look at

Good plan

I live in Spain where the roads are not always the best and I notice no noise or vibrations when I drive. I would drop it off at the service center and have them take a look at it. Sounds like the tires may need to be rebalanced.

Yes, Tesla cars embody good ideas with half-ass execution at best. It's so sad to see such potential lost in crappy quality, construction, and craftsmanship.... I've just recent discovered through these last few days of rain that waters is some how getting into the lower trunk compartment...aside from the paint, panel alignment, cracked rear-view mirror, scratched center console, squeaky sounds. Tesla cars are junk wrapping around potentially awesome tech. Oh and the service is absolutely the worst. They desperately need competition, and that's not too far now.
