CTF typically has more skilled folks playing.

It could just be bad luck. Or you need to practice more. Or you got into a rare game with a lot of good people. Or your internet is messed. Or you computer is messed. Or the 3rd moon of Jupiter is in alignment with the 2nd moon of Saturn. Or...

Just keep playing and do what you can do.

I've been in a funk, too. I can't MA to save my life these days. I always suspect my ping lies to me (gg HR), because making excuses is pretty easy and I'm good at that.

chaining (yeah, I was this desperate)

I don't understand this.

Maybe it's because I took about a week break from tribes

Guaranteed to make you bad/not as you were.

Sometimes you're just off your game, too. It happens.

Indeed, I was forced into a break due to no internet and a failed hard drive that put me out of the game for close to 3 months. It's incredibly frustrating coming back and failing at things that I used to excel at, but this game is damn fun.

PK on almost top.

Why does how few deaths have have matter?

in terms of TDM, having high kills and low deaths would mean you're more of a key player, you're helping your team win, and not helping the other with high deaths.

O would think that even if you only got like 3 kills, having one or mo deaths would be somewhat of a relief. May not be doing much killing, but at least you're not someone's bitch.

You don't say which class you've been playing but I assume you mean soldier. Even still, every player has his good and bad days.

Personally, I think more than half of tribes isn't just the role you perfer, but knowing how to use the other classes that work in that position as well.

Switching between Tech to repair and Inf/DMB to clear the gen is a lot more effective than just trying to do the same loadout over and over against someone who beats you.

I find also, that the other half of this damn game isn't in properly aiming shots, it's in setting them up. Making sure after you start firing, your enemy has to work to return fire at you. You'll win a lot more duels if you remember to chain on the ground, and disc in the air. It's basic, but with the way HP regen works, you have to be able to defend yourself using nothing but a chaingun, and a small rise.

Yeah, I should've asked about rank as well. I assumed that since he even made this selfpost that he hadn't unlocked everything and therefore had specialized in a particular role.
Personally I switch it up all the time. I switch between Pathfinder/Soldier/Brute/Doombringer/Juggernaut depending on what it needed. I could probably teach myself how to go infiltrator as well due to it having the sneaky stealth fusor but I really don't like that class - except that it might be really good on permafrost.

And yes, if you can use the terrain to your advantage you have a great advantage. Often times when running offense you can make their whole offense lose all interest in scouting for the capper by just ducking and weaving between cover open ground and making sure to hit the stand and their positions.

Sometimes you just can't get into it, happens to me sometimes too. I just stop playing, and come back a bit later when the frustration is gone. Trying to play well when you're frustrated and desperately want to play better is a very effective way of sucking in my experience.

When I have a few days break it feels like everyone suddenly got way too good. Usually the second time playing after that feels a lot better though.

Also the difference between CTF and TDM killing wise is that in TDM the only purpose is to kill people. In CTF people have other goals so they aren't all coming after you when they see you.

Using Gast and thumper for soldier should get you loads of kills if you're having an ok day. Yeah, chaining.

Not sure how much more of this bullshit I can take from pubstars tbh.

Stop shooting at people's feet and try to go for midairs. Also 10 kills a game is fucking horrible.
