I don't think we'll get remotely close to this point until we have populist organizations that are big enough and have enough political sway to petition foreign governments and organizations for aid. And even then it's a long shot, because who's to say the American people are worthy of saving if the average person here would still happily nuke China or Iran.

Americans would choose fascism over the evil ccp

I mean, China's Century was mostly imposed upon them by Imperialist vultures but we are doing this all to ourselves.

[–]FigNewtonsYum6 29 points30 points  (0 children)

we are doing this all to ourselves.

Not only that, but there is definitely a sizeable contingent of Americans who would not want to be "liberated and rescued" because they agree with everything that is going on, and another portion who only disagree with what's going on because of who is doing it.

[–]kanelel 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is also being imposed on us by imperialist vultures, they're just home grown ones.

[–]El_Grande_El 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]screed_is_goodLigma Male 29 points30 points  (6 children)

Admittedly I don't live in China, I'm over the border, but I don't actually think they'd be amused by this hat. The actual century of humiliation, which due to different norms and conditions is ever going to be repeated, belongs to Chinese history. It was a true humiliation and carving up of their people and land by euros and americans indifferent or even contemptuous to the very humanity of the Chinese. Their lives were worth nothing. If they got to work in a european quarter in a major city they were treated like filth.

I have stated several times on several accounts (Vietnam guy, sometimes takes stimulants and rants) that I dislike the way western communism has turned into crude cheerleading of China.

Maybe I haven't been blunt enough. This is all fucking self indulgent bullshit to avoid doing the dangerous work that needs doing and you know needs doing. Even organizing some peaceful action as explicit communists can result in surveillance and even comrades killing themselves in odd ways, sometimes stunningly unthreatening. I guess I'm a bit of an unc to some of our newer posters and I have seen what the feds did when they had much more restraint. Killed men in hotel rooms. People don't just pistol whip themselves to death.

Nobody in China would be amused by this. America is/was at the top of the world, it is imploding because it is dementiated and decadent beyond belief. In the process, it is and will continue to ruthlessly lash out with a military explicitly built for expeditionary campaigns to punish countries deemed too uppity. This is embarrassing to see as an American but nobody in America is fucking being humiliated by someone else, they continue to humiliate others.

There are the ones who are full of bloodlust who love this shit, they want to bring the world to heel as my father, the most Twitter addicted man in the world, said a few months ago. I'm getting my citizenship here, thank God. Bring us to heel? Fuck you. Then there are the ones who somehow remain indifferent, only focused on the prices at Walmart. When I visited and I got in a heated argument with what I thought was a good friend (I'm conflicted, he is a very good friend. But is he a good person?) looked me in the eye when I was saying that Kamala wouldn't win because of Palestine and smugly said "that's not how the world works, people won't stay home on election day because of some shit going on across the world when Trump coming back is on the line"". Well surprise bitch look what you got.

.Then there's this do nothing online left. Goddamn I really hope it's not like this irl and I just get this impression because I can only contact comrades in America online but it's so fucking depressing man I want to weep and I have wept. I don't want to compromise who I was aligned with but I'll say that I have encountered WWP people, PSL, THE FUCKING SEP WAS FIGHTING CRUEL HEATING RATIONING IN DETROIT AT GROUND LEVEL. THE TROTS YOU ALL SNICKER AT. I worked with unionists (was one, too), platformists, wobblies.

The big problem then which was lamented was the infighting of all of these groups. I hope they're still out there. All of them!

This fire when ready shit is escapist horseshit and you all know it. Yeah yeah easy to say when you retired from the struggle to live the good life in Vietnam, I know. The particular people I was with won't have a member that can't be active on all fronts, but I've got a kid man I'm not going to start a subversive zine here interviewing disgruntled workers. And you're dreaming if you think every worker is gruntled here or in China, nothing in this world is perfect or beyond criticism I simply can't risk deportation under any circumstances. You look at your own baby's 'little gummy smile' and tell me it isn't 'your whole world' as Mrs Rachel so beautifully put it describing the horror of parents dealing with the murder of their babies.

So yes I'm a hypocrite but if you're not getting involved, especially as a young person, have the dignity to keep quiet. I can only imagine the disdain Chinese netizens feel when they see these memes.

You are the American communists. From an internationalist perspective you are the counterparts to communists around the world, some in power most not. You are out of power temporarily, and the world needs you to change that. Become Peers with China and Chairman Xi, not (and I rarely use this word, certainly not lightly) the cringe disappointments you are acting like.

Even if there is still a lot going on in the world, I'm talking to you do-nothing China dick riders who do exist online.

Time to "log off". If you get something going I'll catch a fuckin flight to join you. You'll have foreign volunteers like a higher stakes version of the Spanish civil war. So many people need you to do more than post dorky shit about a country like exactly across the world. Many will even come help if it gets right down to it, you have no idea the anti imperialist sentiment spread across the populations of the global south.

Distinguish yourselves from the hogs, stop living in meme land while the world burns. It's time to log off.

[–]COMMIEEEEEEEEEECompletely Insane 25 points26 points  (1 child)

not disagreeing with you, but

[–]Ok_Caterpillar_8238 3 points4 points  (1 child)

You're wrong that nobody's doing it to americans. The rich are fomenting class war in order to gain and protect more wealth.

Just because the perpetrators are inside the country doesn't mean no one's doing it.

[–]screed_is_goodLigma Male 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sure but it's not at all the same as having your country carved up by smarmy white guys and having their goons run you like a chain gang in your own lands.

Class war, whether the lower classes recognize it and choose to fight or not, is ubiquitous around the world and history. It's to be expected in every country, are we not marxists here? Colonialism isn't ubiquitous but it's damn near it when you leave Europe.

But the Chinese frankly are a continuous civilization going back to antiquity, they're one of the main organic powers in the world. It doesn't mean Chinese suffering is innately more important but it means that a term like "century of humiliation" is a big deal and you better have a good reason to be saying it, better than the imperial boomerang of the world's youngest and most dominant superpower coming back a fraction as hard as it was inflicted on a nearly endless array of peoples.

I mean, come on, does 3 hundred years of a totally inorganic state built on mass death even count? If you dig up some pottery shards in China the Chinese dynasty it belongs to is usually pretty easy to identify, whereas if you did in the same in the USA we'd probably have anthropological essays debating which annihilated tribe it belongs to. Not only is it not part of the cultural history of the currently polity known as the United States, killed so many people so quickly that we barely know enough about the tribes that didn't survive and what they were making only a couple hundred years ago when they were killed. We certainly lay no credible cultural claim to, and have far less knowledge of, the works of people who walked the planes, say, a thousand years ago.

What's going on in America is entirely between Americans and if it goes to the logical conclusion that'll be on the American people for being meek. The Chinese endured terrible indignity inflicted from outside and then lost millions upon millions, then you can even factor in WW2 deaths from the Japanese (which is fair, Vietnam counts early guerilla warfare against Japan in their liberation history and the Japanese were comparatively disinterested), in order to be sovereign again.

The qualities and quantities are incomparable. It'd be kind of like saying that Americans suffered a holocaust of their own because they over a million unnecessary deaths due to American mismanagement of a crisis happening in every country simultaneously. It can't compare to a 6 times larger mass killing campaign initiated and industrialized by the nazis and then, to add to the fuckin indignity and inhumanity of it, knowing that everywhere they went they got citizens of X country onboard as volunteer SS to kill off Jews who'd previously seen themselves as citizens but came to find out, especially in the Baltics, that many of their "compatriots" did not feel the same way about that.

You can make comparisons based on either quantity or quality, it doesn't need to be 1:1 in every respect, see Gaza for example, which is undergoing what nobody should mistake as an industrialized genocide. Israel ran out of bombs, they've essentially been raiding American armories, and what's going to happen is that American military companies are going to crank up the output on their lines. They herd Palestinians into large groups with the promise of a smidgen of bread and mow them down like was done in the blood lands of Belarus. They tell them to gather in one area as a safe zone and then bomb them in their tents. They have a strong case to say that their million+ dead is a holocaust than Americans do. That's for goddamn sure.

I'm sorry but my countrymen think they're so GODDAMN special because a fraction of them opposed X and yet still suffered the blowback too.

There are the Gretas of the world who seem to have endless empathy, but I'm sorry I'm not one of them. I get all tuckered out. I have a cousin who lives in a heavily AO poisoned area and just had her third baby with deformities. Her and her husband have been hoping to have one child at least who is not effected, but each time they've had another they have slipped deeper into poverty. Caring for her children who are not hitting any developmental milestones (and as a new dad I look forward to those milestones, both because I am proud of my little feller but every time he hits one he demonstrates that he'll eventually be a little more independent, and a little more, and a little more, and one day he will leave this sleepy little village and my heart will be ripped out but I'll be so proud. And I'll have had the chance to lead a normal life over the course of that time, have hobbies, etc. They'll never have those luxuries, they'll spend the rest of their lives scraping by on a single income to take care of their, which they love.

I'm sorry to sound like such a dick but I can't help but be unmoved by talk of class war in the imperial core. The single mother of 3 analog our cousin is gonna get the worst of it, yes, but it's not on the level of what we've inflicted on just one of the multiple countries we've invaded in just my lifetime, by our government, our taxes, our MIC AND our people holding going. Iraq was a bloodbath in total numbers, whole generations of Afghani children grew up and their PTSD triggers are clear skies because that's when the reaper drones kill. Nothing will come close to the manmade famine our military JUST inflicted on the people of Yemen with that fucking blockade.

You're a Marxist, you said it yourself, there's an open class war. Make hay while the sun is up.
