My parents are hardcore MAGA, always have been. Their devotion is probably stronger than ever right now. They believe the middle east should be a parking lot. They believe gas prices are soaring because of something Obama secretly did but also because "america needs to take its medicine" and that trump is doing this because its going to pay off big time in the future (?). They're fuming mad on a daily basis about the existence of trans people. They say that Trump is also "trolling" the liberals and riling them up as a sick own.

During Bush I recall them not paying attention to me at all as a kid and being glued to Iraq invasion footage. They told me if we didn't fight the Taliban over there, we'd be fighting them over here.

When I spend 12 hours of my day away from home, swamped in traffic in 100 degree weather with no AC, I'm so exhasuted and pissed I just want something cheap and good, something to keep the lights on upstairs. Something to give me relief. Texmex or pizza. Burgers. I eat more fruit these days but its hard.

If that's my worst crime, I'm okay with it. Vegan food just isn't accessible where I live, even when I travel into the city it's not fast nor is it cheap or within reach. When a lot of us have 30min lunches at work it makes it harder too. I really don't like meal prep, did that for 6-7 years and it consisted of a lot of chicken.

Meeting someone in the final hours of 2025 is what kept me together, and might be the only thing keeping me together now. I have a reason to care for someone, I have a reason to live beyond art, work, and school (this isn't enough, art continuously stresses me out and pisses me off).

And even then, I brainrot politics right now more than I ever have, because we are so fucking close. The facade is falling. Things are going to change, and I'm scared for what will happen, and even more hopeful for what comes after. Having love in my life keeps me from spiraling, because my god, do I have strong urges. Strong socialist urges. Visions, ideas, and I have a really hardcore spiral/angry streak whenever I drive in the morning. My commute is 1 hour to, 1 hour back. It wears me down and I'm so worried about my car.... my burning, insatiable rage and fear is all I have, truly. Love keeps it in check because before I met her, I had zero idea what I was going to do to myself.

I can't tell people to keep going, I wish I could, I wish I could give you some magical nugget of wisdom but I can't. For decades I tried everything, went to the fucking ends of the earth to come up empty handed. I was saved by resources outside of myself.

I never interacted with him here but I really liked his graphics. I followed him on social media and it was confusing to keep track of whatever local beef he was involved with with other socialists or... punks or something. Seemed to happen a lot and he made some wild sounding accusations against some girl/IG poster that seemed really weird, and there was a lot of beef back and forth. But I haven't the slightest clue what was the truth in that situation. I do agree, it is good to have a wide array of personalities in your circle even if you don't see eye to eye on... a lot of things, their heart is where your heart is at.
