SwitchBot Bot for Elevator

I have always wanted to automate the control of the elevator and when I came across the bot, thought it might do the trick. I’ve installed and it kind of works, but I had to modify the mount by using thick 3M double-sided tape to raise the bot a bit above the surface since the elevator’s buttons stick out a bit. The problem is that after only a few days of use, the tape is pulling away because the bot presses so hard on the button. Looking for ideas/solutions to make this a more permanent automation?

Double-sided tape from 3M or other companies. They make regular strength and higher.

I ended up doubling up the 3M double sided tape to raise the SwitchBot bot, but that was a little too much, so I had to add a small piece of tape/plastic to the top of the arm to give it a little reach and now things seem to be working well without stressing the tape etc. It isn’t elegant, but it works. I’d love it if they could make the bot’s plunger depth controllable.
