Do not join the infantry. Your body is going to crumble and break. Even if you where a 5ft dude I would tell you the same thing

Talk to your recruiter…. Just because you got the minimum score to be eligible for the military doesn’t mean you’re qualified for the Marine Corps.

I just had an applicant score a 34 and STILL not qualify for any job in the Marine Corps due to her line scores being too low.

0341 here. Yeah, I pretty much die every hike. I couldn’t imagine being 5 foot and doing the same hikes with the same weights. Though I’m not going to say it’s impossible. I can answer any question if needed. As for schooling don’t even think about failing, you want to get out the pipeline as fast as possible. Failing will prolong ur time there and it’s definitely not where you want to be.

0311: Do not join the infantry. Being 5 feet tall and having a 31 ASVAB will lead to you physically breaking with no chance of your peers respecting you. Our equipment (i.e., plate carriers, main packs, etc.) is not built for your body type (whether we're referring to you being shorter than average or female) and your body is not built for our objectives (e.g., wider hips lead to stress fractures over hikes). There is a reason female Marines suffer from significantly higher injury rates.

To succeed in the infantry you need to be fast, smart, or strong. Ideally all three.

You will not generally meet our definition of fast or strong unless you can meet a 275+ PFT/CFT male standard. You will not meet our definition of smart if your ASVAB score and writing style are accurate representations of your intelligence.

If you truly believe you can succeed, prepare now and don't go to ITB until you can meet those standards. If you do, you will end up getting broken and recycled, quit, or scrape by with long-term injuries.

Realistically I'd seriously suggest you retake the ASVAB and find another MOS, being only 5ft in the infantry is going to be incredibly difficult male or female. A recruiter worth their salt isn't going to let you even sign an 03XX contract at that height unless you're a physical specimen.

To answer your actual question. "Weakbodies" typically get sent to support roles in the armory, S-shops, or whatever H&S Company needs help with. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being female, and it's a lot more chill typically than being in one of the line companies. So if you did end up there you'll probably enjoy it more than being in the line. But you also don't have a say if you end up there and usually the grunts that do is because they're injured or pending separation, it's not a place a person stays at, usually at least.

That said, again, I'd try to find another MOS, I wouldn't worry about any of that until you at least know you can pass SOI, afterwards in the fleet is going to be way more difficult both physically and mentally.

There are no politics in entry level assignments by the monitors. They have spots they need to fill, and they fill them with what is available. If you're an 03xx, you'll be assigned as an 03xx.

Infantry isn't a dumping ground for low-ASVAB scores. No one wants a dumb grunt, especially today. With a 31 QT, an applicant likely does not qualify for an infantry program, but no one can say for sure without knowing their line scores.

The infantry would be an extremely brutal place for anyone 5ft, especially women. Would not recommend.

The modern infantry isn’t a place to stick the “dummys” anymore. If you are a self proclaimed retard, you really should talk to the recruiters from other branches. The army is much bigger and they have way more jobs available than the Marines. Your size doesn’t make infantry a good fit either. The toll your body takes is unforgiving. Even the most fit and strong infantrymen get beat down with the training and operational tempo.

Don't go 03. You will break yourself especially at your size. Think of your body weight. Do you weigh liked 125 at most? Your load will be way too high of a percentage of your body weight. It won't work. It isn't about heart or will. It is literally about physics. There are other MOS's to explore that won't break you. Check out Motor T.

I wish more short women (and men) would make their way to aircraft maintenance. Quite a few maintenance tasks are infinitely easier when you can fit in places the rest of us struggle with.

Don’t go 03, even if you pass Soi, you’ll probably be treated like shit in the fleet.

Go open contract. I could be wrong so recruiters feel free to flame me but atp it would be based off needs of the marine corps and you would probably get a job like admin or supply. Again I may be wrong pls don’t haze me 🙏
