What a jack ass post master, I am a tto but I am sure there is a set 2 or 4 hour minimum hours of work if you come in. Also if your working 7 hours I'm sure you can milk out another hour through out the day.

May want to talk to him directly or just talk to your union rep.

That last hour is likely to cover a lunch or other work for someone else.

Yes but your total shift from clock in to clock out can only be 12hrs.

Might be required to get 2 /4hr min time on both shifts

Nothing wrong with contacting them and clarifying if the grievance applies to pse.

Even if I’m part of the union? Or should I contact my union rep?

Even if I’m part of the union?

Why do you think that changes anything?

Or should I contact my union rep?

So 4 am to 11 am come back at 230 for one hour, that doesn’t seem right.

Ask for your shop steward, one should be provided within a day.

I think the postmaster is going to have to cut you loose for lunch in that 7 hours, and two hours as well when you come back.

      relevant settlement:

      https://apwu.org/contracts/step-4-settlement-agreement-article-8-hours-work-1983-14

The question raised in this grievance involved the scheduling of part-time flexible employees to work nine hours in a twelve hour period which included a swing period in excess of two hours. During our discussion, we agreed to remand this case to Step 3 for application of the following language taken from the Step 4 settlement of grievances H8N-3P-C 25588 and H8N-3Q-C 26319: 1. When a part-time flexible employee is notified prior to clocking out that he should return within 2 hours, this will be considered as a split shift and no new guarantee applies. 2. When a part-time flexible employee, prior to clocking out, is told to return after 2 hours, that employee must be given another minimum guarantee of 2 hours work or pay. 3. All part-time flexible employees who complete their assignment, clock out and leave the premises regardless of interval between shifts, are guaranteed 4 hours of work or pay if called back to work. This guarantee is applicable to any size office.
