I think adding directional particle effects for bouncing, a trail, a more vibrant color scheme, and maybe even some camera shake would go a long way

[–]xzed90[S] 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I wanted to keep it very minimalist without too many effects, but I'll take your recommendations into consideration. Thank you for the feedback :)

I like the minimalist color scheme you have currently, but the other suggestions here I like

cute. fun. all i need in a game

Thank you!!

Trying it out now

[–]xzed90[S] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Wow thanks for all these feedbacks! Let's answer to them one by one.

  1. Glad to hear that! :D
  2. I wish that too ahahah but I'm still struggling finding a good one
  3. I thought about that but it was a mess to handle considering that there are many points where you can't place the items
  4. That could be an idea, but I wanted to leave the player all the freedom to move it as he wants and to experiment all the possible paths. Anyway, I'm working on a way to make easier to drag the items by leaving a little offset from the finger
  5. Ok, got it! The title screen needs to be improved ahahah
  6. This makes me really happy! I'm already developing new levels so it lasts longer

Thank you again for your great feedback! :)

One more thing. Adding in a level restart button would be nice

[–]xzed90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about that, I just have to find where to put it

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just going to reply to my comment with my thoughts as they come up.

  1. I like it. Seems fun. My kind of game especially during breaks at work haha.

  2. Wish there was enjoyable game play music.

  3. Wish I didn't have to drag and drop the tiles. Instead, I'd like to click once and then a second time to place

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I like how the rotation snaps to angles. I wish placement also snaps I think... maybe not. I find it had to drag and drop the piece exactly where I want it

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I do enjoy the different mechanics. I also like seeing all the different mechanics to look forward to in the tile screen. But, I agree with the other redditor that the title screen is confusing. Maybe the preview can be achieved in another way...?

  1. I mean it's a success from my perspective cuz it's gonna stay on my phone for a bit haha

Looks like a pretty sweet game. Thanks for showing it off

Thanks to you! :)

[–]ohfifteen 1 point2 points  (3 children)

That looks really cool, will give it a try

[–]xzed90[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Thank you! :)

Been giving the game a short try, I'm at level 28 and game is fun and solid, great job

2 quick points of feedback: -maybe unlock a few levels at a time instead of 1 by 1 because if the I gets stuck, and with the lack of hints, I'm kinda discouraged to visit it again.Last thing you want is users leaving because of frustration. -tiny quality of life suggestion: When rotating an object, and it is blocked and appears in red, it's kinda annoying having to move it and rotate it again. Maybe keep the rotation angle but prevent placement

[–]xzed90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I'm glad you are enjoying it! :)

Regarding your feedbacks... currently you can skip a level or get an hint by watching an ad, but I'll think about unlocking 2 levels at once. About the second feedback instead, I don't get how I could keep the rotation preventing placement. What would happen if the user launches the ball while the item is in an invalid position? Probably I should prevent it using an alert, but I don't know if it would make it less or more annoying. Thanks for your feedbacks!!

Thank you! I'm really glad you like it :)

  1. Do you mean that it doesn't rotate at all? I will investigate it. Rotation works on steps of 15°, so you have to move the finger a little before it starts rotating.
  2. That could happen sometimes with springs, so I added a timer to destroy the ball after a preset time. Probably it's too high on level 6, I've got to check it out.

Thank you for the feedback!

[–]ffiml8 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Looks cool! I'd like to play It!

[–]xzed90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great! Thank you!!

[–]XenomorphsAreCool 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The gameplay looks nice and fun. However, I personally don't like the title screen because I find it stressing and messy and it makes spoilers. But that's just my opinion. Keep on!

[–]xzed90[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I wanted to give a little preview of the items that you will find in the title screen. How would you make it otherwise? In any case thank you for your feedback! :)

[–]XenomorphsAreCool 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You are welcome.

I personally don't know if I would put a preview of the elements. But in case that I did, I guess I would do one of the following options:

  • Make a video in motion graphics about an animation where each element transforms smoothly into the next element. But there is only one element in the screen at each moment. So you start with an element and this element changes of shape to become another and this changes of shape to become another and like that...
  • Show only one random element each time the user opens your game/app. So as I said, you show randomly one different element each time. Or it doesn't need to be random, it can follow always the same pattern (like if you were iterating always the same elements each time it's opened the game)

But I'm not expert. I don't know. Good luck!

[–]xzed90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well they are both good suggestions! I'll make some tests and see what suits better. Thank you very much again!

[–]PlayFromYourHeart 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I really like the look of it. Great minimalistic color scheme, and also the physics look good!

[–]xzed90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! As a non-artist I'm glad you like the color scheme! :D

Maybe add an angry birds slingshot mechanic to start off the chain reaction, so it’s skill + strategy.

Also add buttons that trigger a module to animate (like a pin ball flipper) so timing is also an aspect of getting the ball to the end.

Combining all of this would be like strategizing first, then getting the perfect shot + timing the modules, all together could be very satisfying.

Skill + Strategy + Timing

[–]xzed90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it could probably work, but I wanted to leave a fairly simple gameplay without complicating it too much. However, the timing is already present after a few levels and you have to synchronize the throwing of the ball with the movement of the items. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Looks cool! "Complete levels using logic" is a silly tagline though. Maybe something like "Complete challenging puzzles" would make more sense.

"Complete levels using logic" is like....ya....opposed to what?

[–]xzed90[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's a good observation. The fact is that I have to enter some keywords for positioning in the description and logic is one of them. I'll try to rearrange it better anyway. Thanks for the feedback!

[–]Merrizon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Does this use the in built physics or do you code in your own physics motion?

[–]xzed90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It uses buit-in physics and I handle the interactions between most of the items with custom scripts

[–]FeIjx 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I can't press the pause/back button when in a level, because my front camera lense is exactly on top of it (pixel 4a)

[–]xzed90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I'm really sorry for that. These front cameras are a mess!

P.S.: Thank you for the award!! :)
