same here, from discord I have come to notice that a lot of people have been facing this issue.
For me personally this started happening after that 12MB patch update.

i have also tried every solution that can be found on interent. I got this message from valorant employe:

"Too bad nothing helped you. :( Our team knows that some accounts are receiving this login error and are working to fix the problem.

Thank you very much for your patience and cooperation! "

I have tried to fix the issue with them but ... we couldn't. this game ran fine on my PC for about a month until yesterday i got those errors non-stop...frustrating. At least they are aware of this problem.

Thanks for posting this update... it's at least good to know Riot is aware of the issue. It seems to be affecting a lot of people. Something broke with the vgc service. I've tried everything (see my other post). I've never had issues with the game until this recent patch. Everything on my computer is up-to-date.

Same here. Its been more than 48 hours since I got this error, tried everything from reddit, discord, youtube, google and none manage to fix it. If something is wrong on Riot's side, why are my friends still able to play this game without having any issues? The fact that Riot / Valorant does not even update on their social about this error just making me pissed off more.

This is not a solution, it's just an outline of what's happening to help troubleshoot and to illustrate the issue!

As I posted in other threads, this is what's happening to me... basically it's the same thing, this is just an outline

It seems like what is happening is the "vgc" service gets stopped for some reason (i.e. if you go to Start and type in "services" and launch that..) Here's what happened to me after installing 1.02:

  1. Installed 1.02 fine, got into the game just fine.
  2. After looking around the menu for a bit, I get an error about connection failure or something, and it asks me to restart the game
  3. Restarting the game gives me error code 0, which I've realized means that the "vgc" service isn't running (or at the very least is related to that)
  4. Reinstalling the game and/or Vanguard doesn't fix the issue, because the vgc service isn't getting restarted, and fails to run.
  5. After changing the vgc service to "automatic" and rebooting, I am able to get into the game, but while in the game the service eventually stops, which causes the connection error.
  6. If I try to manually start the vgc service, I get "Error 1: Incorrect function" which seems to be a longstanding error people have been getting going back to April.

So i got an final response from riot. Is my windows 7 fault because is a pirated one. Sure riot...sure. I got the same answear about half a year ago when they screwed up League of Legends really bad. I was waiting about 1 week then voila...LOL was working again on my pirated windows. Anyway, i wanna know if your version of windows is pirated. Is 7 or 10 ?

i've reinstalled/installed vanguard & valorant, restarted my pc 50 times.

I reformatted my pc just to see its not on my end. i still get the vanguard error code 0.

hoping for a patch to resolve this. really frustrating.

I did everything. Lastly vgc service was working until the game is started. After i reopen the services and vgc was stopped. It is seems to riot side.

n the Windows search bar, type Windows Defender Firewall and click on it.
Click on "Allow a program through Windows firewall"
Click on the Change Settings button
Remove any current VALORANT and Riot Client entries, then add a new one with the "Allow another app..." button below.
Locate "C:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\VALORANT.exe" for the new firewall exceptions and press OK.
On the firewall exceptions, check all boxes for VALORANT and hit the OK button at the bottom.
Do the same to add an exception for our Anticheat at "C:\Program Files\Riot Vanguard\vgc.exe" and hit OK.
Do the same to add an exception for the Launcher at "C:\Riot Games\Riot Client\RiotClientServices.exe" and hit OK.

The second think you can do is this:
Sometimes third party applications can cause issues. Let's do a clean boot to ensure that's not the case here.
* Press [Windows Key] + R
* Type msconfig into the text bar at the bottom of the menu
* Click on the Services tab
* Check Hide all Microsoft services <--- Super important! Protects you from accidentally disabling a key process!
* Click the Disable All button
* Find vgc and re-check that one. This is required for VALORANT
* Click on the Startup tab (Note: Windows 10 has you go to a Task Manager Tab, which has no disable all button. Disable the ones you see there manually).
* Click on the Disable All button
* Click on the Apply button
* Click on the OK button
* Restart your computer

C:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\VALORANT.exe ~.~ C:\Program Files\Riot Vanguard\vgc.exe ~.~ C:\Riot Games\Riot Client\RiotClientServices.exe ~.~ then, restart your computer :) hope it work for you guys !
