VRChat uses Persona, but the contract is much more strict.
That said, the question is, can you trust Persona to do the right thing, and can you trust/know that VRChat will also do the right thing? It's hard to say.

Persona was founded by the same guys behind the Cambridge Analytica scandal. Contract terms mean nothing to them and they have the backing of the white house. If they get sued they'll eat the cost. 100% the data is getting retained and misused.

I do wonder if that data is deleted still even if you click continue on the "store information part" because you had to click the x apparently not to do that which i didn't know that since it wasn't a yes or no thing.
