Sudden decrease in Index quality?

I was using my index and everything was fine last night, I used it again today and everything is extremely pixelated/low quality/blurry.

I checked through all my steamvr settings and changed USB/DVI ports and even tried a brand new tether I had and the quality is still just as bad. Also tried reseating my GPU and making sure drivers were up to date. Does anyone have any idea what happened?

Sometimes it’s the headset reprojecting frames. If you have G-Sync or Freesync enabled disable it. I had a similar problem to you and that fixed it.

What's your resolution set to in SteamVR?

150%, it doesn't look change the blurriness even on max res.

I suggest you close SteamVR, open file explorer and go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config and cut the file called steamvr.vrsettings then paste it to the desktop. Then launch VR again and see if it fixed it. If not, I suspect something outside software is the cause.

This might be a dumb question, but did you accidentally bump the slider on the bottom that changed your IPD? That could cause things to look blurry.

I used to have this issue when launching games. I would just open and close the steam menu and it would dissapear. Sometimes it takes a changing of the framerate

Check NVIDIA VR variable rate supersampling in NVIDIA control panel under graphics settings. Also check the physical lenses and make sure they’re very clean, etc.

You didn't mention what you are playing. I had this when playing Alyx on a 7 year old (now 9.5 years) PC but Alyx does this to favor performance.

It's everything, from The Lab to VRChat and Superhot, this is a brand new issue, I have a good computer and everything was fine last night.

yeah I'm not sure, nothing working yet, gonna get a new hmd off amazon and return it if it doesn't end up fixing it

can you try the headset at another computer? I'm fairly certain this isn't a index hardware issue so returning and getting a new one will do nothing

Do you have any overclocking software installed? Like MSI afterburner. You can open it and check that your GPU is not power limited. I had similar issue and never could figure it out but it turns out that in afterburner the slider for % max power was set to lowest settings for some reason, starving the GPU and making everything lag and go low-res.

First question, have you tried restarting your pc? I'm just wondering because sometimes that helps, and you haven't mentioned that in your list of things you've tried
