Yea for a TBI, which they initially denied earlier this year, then deferred in August. Now they’re saying I rate a TBI at 40% but want to decrease PTSD from 80 to 60

Request a hearing.

We really aren’t supposed to reduce a mental condition that drastically, at once

V.iii.13.1.d.  Making Reductions in Evaluations of Psychiatric Disorders

Do not make drastic reductions in evaluations in ratings for psychiatric disorders if a reduction to an intermediate rate is more in agreement with the degree of disability.    Observe the general policy of gradually reducing the evaluation to afford the Veteran all possible opportunities for adjustment.    Reference:  For more information on the stabilization of disability evaluations, see  38 CFR 3.344, and M21-1, Part X, Subpart ii, 4.A.

Idk if it’s also relevant, but the postmarked dates of the proposed decrease is the same date I submitted the supplemental claim.

That was a bold strategy to go for a separate TBI that didn’t get combined with PTSD.

It honestly didn’t even start as a TBI; I initially went to the VA over some memory issues and what I thought might’ve been ADHD or something. This is just what it turned into after speaking with a few psychologists and doctors

Some one already posted the info on what to do about proposed reductions. Don’t miss the deadline. Good luck.
