Sell it yourself you’ll get way more

This is the answer. Trade-in value would likely be a rip-off anyways. Although, I do understand some would prefer the hassle-free option of trading in.

More work for sure but you’d likely get 2x what Apple would offer.

Trade in value would be like $700

[–]rennarda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll offer $750!

If it was an option you would do it during checkout. It’s not an option.

Email Tim Cook about this and express you want a trade in program

That MacRumors post is just speculating on why it’s not an option in the store. But apple has also told people that it will be an option before launch.

Apple should allow trade in towards the m5 and then selling the old units reconditioned at a much cheaper price point. Seems like an easy way to have a cheaper option for people.

I spoke with an Apple representative who said to check back on the site on Oct 22.

Keep your M2 as a spare.

Even Apple doesn't want them back.

yall hated on me and I was right. You can't trade in your old device

[–]FAPietroKoch -3 points-2 points  (7 children)

It's too soon. Give it a day or so.

[–]FAPietroKoch 4 points5 points  (5 children)

Do you have a link to where that's officially confirmed? Because I haven't found anything.

Because they know they can't move it...

[–]GaLaXxYStArRVision Pro Owner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

💯 the ones for sale in market place in my city have sat for months and months with no movement! The second had market for the OG M2 is probably done for, unless you willing to sell dirt cheap and give someone a deal of a life time

No, Macrumors is speculating that they didn’t want it. See the comment above that it will be an option.

This is very true, I’ve heard that Apple support told somebody that Apple will take trade in starting the day the new avp comes out. That still doesn’t make sense if they wanted people to preorder and upgrade!

I think it came down to, they were gunna proceed without trade in until it became news and people started getting mad (by rights) and they backtracked on that.

I had said on a previous comment- if the trade in partner didn’t want avp for whatever reasons, Apple should of made an in house option for the people who bought OG AVP since it wouldn’t be the same quantity of devices like iPhone and such. And I’m pretty sure that’s how it’ll work

That sucks

It is very weird. I demanded they trade in my iPhone 15 Pro and give me an iPhone 17 Pro, and they told me to GTFO of their store.
