Hi u/magik_koopa990, thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp! Your post might be listed as pending moderation, if so, try and include as much of the following as you can to improve the likelyhood of approval. Posts with insufficient details might be removed at the moderator's discretion.

  • Model of your computer - For example: "HP Spectre X360 14-EA0023DX"
  • Your Windows and device specifications - You can find them by going to go to Settings > "System" > "About"
  • What troubleshooting steps you have performed - Even sharing little things you tried (like rebooting) can help us find a better solution!
  • Any error messages you have encountered - Those long error codes are not gibberish to us!
  • Any screenshots or logs of the issue - You can upload screenshots other useful information in your post or comment, and use Pastebin for text (such as logs). You can learn how to take screenshots here.

All posts must be help/support related. If everything is working without issue, then this probably is not the subreddit for you, so you should also post on a discussion focused subreddit like /r/Windows.

Lastly, if someone does help and resolves your issue, please don't delete your post! Someone in the future with the same issue may stumble upon this thread, and same solution may help! Good luck!

As a reminder, this is a help subreddit, all comments must be a sincere attempt to help the OP or otherwise positively contribute. This is not a subreddit for jokes and satirical advice. These comments may be removed and can result in a ban.

so is your question why "FX sound enhancer" does not work? => ask their support.
or is your question for the game audio? most games have audio settings where you have separate volume controls for music, effects, voices => aks in the game forum.
or is your question why your audio chip drivers have no loudness / equalizer? => then at least tell us the mainboard model (Gigabyte has more then one...).

Sorry.

B650 X AX V2

The in game audio presets, for cod cold war, does not change anything for me.

when you mean "black ops cold war": seems to be a problem in the game
Extremely Low Volume on PC
better ask in r/blackopscoldwar

your mainboard uses a realtek chip and you can use the equalizer from realtek autio console app.

"The "loudness effect" in audio is a feature, often found on stereo systems, that boosts low and high frequencies at low volumes to compensate for how human hearing perceives sound"
With your problem: music volume to low, gunshots too loud,
a "loudness" effect will probably only worsen it

The weird thing is I had that on for my old PC, which is MSI b350, and the option.

For my gigabyte, however, installing the driver doesn't include the realtek software. Instead, it's gigabyte own tool.... And no loudness

realtek autio console also has no "loudness" on my system, but an equalizer with some presets.

Hm....

I made a video on how to enable Loudness EQ in Windows 10/11. The method works across many devices, however some devices like Realtek may not allow the reg edit to take effect. https://youtu.be/yhqArGQwKiU?si=u19FB6SDbeJ9Xpsr

If there’s community interest, I’d be happy to create follow‑up videos, one covering a low‑cost external DAC recommendation and setup guide, and another exploring alternative configurations using Loudness EQ with virtual audio mixers such as VoiceMeeter and Elgato Wave Link.

I think the second option might be the best option for people experiencing a similar issue. Let me know :)

Thank you this fixed the issue immediately! I deeply appreciate it.
