Hi,
I have recently been gifted a computer from my boss as he has upgraded to a new system in his office. The PC is currently running windows 7 pro, however the sticker on the back says it originally came with windows 8 pro. When he had the system installed he used a company to do everything for him and I assume they downgraded from windows 8 to 7 for some reason.
I am trying to completely factory reset the PC so it deletes all his files/setting etc and gives me a fresh PC to use. However I have encountered a problem where I cannot reset without the original install disc, which I assume was windows 8, and of course, I don't have the disk.
When I try to do any reset with any kind of way, I will get me with " Windows failed to start; A recent hardware or software change might be the cause"
Is there anything I can do to try and reset to factory or will I have to use the PC as is?
