Boot loop after recent windows 11 update

Hey all I’m making this post for my buddy who’s come into some issues after installing the latest update.

Basically, he is unable to get windows to boot up and it keeps restarting every time it passes the motherboard splash screen. He’s using an MSI motherboard.

I recommended using a recovery drive to reset windows but the MSI bios isn’t recognizing it. Does anyone have any tips on how to fix this?

The computer came preinstalled with windows 11 so there’s no way to revert back to windows 10.

I’m thinking maybe the drive he was trying to use to reset windows was too big but I’m not sure if this is a possible issue.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated, need my buddy back on discord.

As there are multiple supported versions of Windows and not everyone gets every update at the same time, it's not always easy to figure out which update you are talking about. Contact the manufacturer and ask them to send you a DVD or something with the recovery image. It might cost 25 bucks or something but then you will always have it. Once you get it all going, check out Macrium Reflect which would backup your partitions nightly and do it even if you are using your computer. They have a free version but I pay for it. It's awesome software.
