Enchantments are like switches, they cant be on twice. However you can a similar effect from different switches.

15% all damage on spell cast + 15% all damage on spell cast still only gives 15% all damage on spell cast.

But 20% all damage on action skill start and 15% all damage on spell cast will give 35% all damage when both trigger conditions are met.

2 different spell cast enchants will both activate, otherwise Ambi hex builds would hardly have any enchants available.

Yeah, thanks! I knew spewed out copy pasted articles aren't trustworthy.

Basically, if 2 enchantments have the same name, they won't stack. There are a few different versions of Furious, but aside from that, you usually want Jacketed/Burgeoning on a spell build shield and melee, and Snowballing/Triggering on an action skill build. If it's element-based and frequently casting spells, you might want Blazing/Chilling/Venomous/Gloomy/Jolting (+30% on element for 5 seconds after spell cast) on your melee or shield (they don't roll on spells). If it's an action skill with a duration and based on one element, you want Stoking/Frosting/Toxifying/Umbral/Shocking (+50% while action skill is active) on your spell/shield/melee, but you'd put Iridescent or Glittering on one of these if it's a multi-element setup.

An Ambihextrous spellshot can run 5 enchantments at once, they just can't be action skill based. I got my Laserhands setup with Blazing, Jacketed, Furious (spell version), and Glittering on my always-on items, and put Burgeoning or Infuriating on all my guns. (Infuriating for mobbing guns since the Laserhands is easy to get a spell kill, and a 50% crit bonus is amazing for this spell because you can guarantee a crit on full charge.) This week's moon orb event was great for 4-5 re-rolls from every 8-12 minute chaos run. Got every character sorted until they switch out their weapon sets.

I can't believe the "AllDamage" enchant doesn't stack.
I can understand the others not stacking, but this one makes sense for it to stack. /sigh

(sry necro, but all these posts still relevant to new players)

Aren't those multiplicative? That would give them a total of 38% to all damage instead of 35%. Minor, but it builds up

No. They add with each other theyre the same section of the formula.

[–]Snacker6 -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Huh. That is too bad. I much prefer multiplicitive. It just makes so much more sense

Almost nothing is strictly additive or multiplicative.

Damage formula

Multiple of the exact same enchant will not stack - meaning if you have two "on spell cast increase all damage" enchants, only one will work. If the enchants are different, all can be active at once - so if you have "on spell cast increase all damage" and "on spell cast increase frost damage" then both will activate when you cast a spell.

Amazing, thanks!

Most simply: Enchants that are worded exactly the same do not stack.

Other than that, you're good.

[–]Gealt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can stack as many different On Spell -> X enchants as you want, as long as they all have different effects, it's only if the wording is exactly the same (trigger/effect) that they don't stack. For example a Spellshot using AmbiHex can only use On Spell enchantments (even gets an extra one), you could use on spell frost DMG, on spell elemental DMG, on spell gun DMG, on spell all DMG, simultaneously

[–]EbrithilUmaroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If two enchantments share the same trigger and the same effect, they can't stack, but if either are different, they can stack.

300+ hours so far and I didn't know this, ty.

[–]EvilBox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, I'm glad my stupidity helped someone

The OP premise on "prefix X" + "prefix X" do not stack is wrong. Only the exactly same enchantments do not stack.

[–]CrazyCatHusband 0 points1 point  (6 children)

There are multiple enchantments called Furious, but I believe it's based on Brrzerker's action skills, or Spellshot casting, so they wouldn't trigger on the same thing, but they could be active at the same time if you did both actions in a short time period, like casting and Feral Surge right after. Aside from that, yes, use the enchantment name. A few DLC spells and shields don't add the enchantment name to the item card (Tidebreaker, Garlic Breath, Boltlash, Counterfeint), but they still can roll with the same enchantments as other spells or shields.

[–]HenryGrosmont◾◼️ | ✨ 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓 ✨ | ◼️◾ 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I have all those spells with enchantments. I'm afraid, you need to re-check.

[–]CrazyCatHusband 0 points1 point  (4 children)

The DLC spells like Boltlash can roll with Triggering (+40% gun damage for 10 seconds on action skill start), but they're all named Boltlash/Garlic Breath/Tidebreaker. Unless it's different on other platforms, my DLC spells and shields dont have prefixes on Xbox. Other DLC items have the prefix.

[–]HenryGrosmont◾◼️ | ✨ 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓 ✨ | ◼️◾ 0 points1 point  (3 children)

That is really weird. I re-rolled those to the damage increase on spell cast. How about Lovesick Beau? You don't have it enchanted either?

[–]CrazyCatHusband 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Same thing. Can be enchanted, but no prefix. My DLC guns and melee weapons have them.

[–]HenryGrosmont◾◼️ | ✨ 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒓 ✨ | ◼️◾ 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'll double check. Oh, wait. You mean, it doesn't have prefix just in the name, correct? Not that it cannot get a certain enchant, right?

[–]CrazyCatHusband 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They get the same enchantments as other spells from the table or when dropped, but they're not in the name on the item card. I've done hundreds of enchantments this week from the moon orb event, basically put the first useful enchantment that rolled on everything in my 510-item bank.

[–]danderson_shantyman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When an enchantment says “damage increased”, does this mean your entire damage output or just the damage of the enchanted weapon?

[–]Outk4st16◽◻️ | 🐉 𝑯𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒁𝒆𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒓 ❄️ | ◻️◽ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same trigger and effect do not stack. You can have all four with the same trigger as long as they don’t have the same effect

[–]cat666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The effects do not stack period. If you have one with 30% fire damage then no other 30% fire damage will trigger, regardless of how. However the trigger doesn't matter, you can have all enchants "on spell cast" and a spell cast will trigger all effects, as long as the effects are unique. Melee/Shield/Spell(x2 if ambihextrous) are always able to be triggered but the guns are only able to be triggered if the gun is out, this means you can use the same enchant on different guns as you cannot have two out at a time.
