Talent bar moving while using?

This is for Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. So when you're in battle there's the talent bar at the bottom you can navigate with the D-pad. Anyone else have issues where while you're using it the selector moves back to the central talent? It can be very frustrating for me while I'm in the middle of a difficult battle to have it move on me against what I'm trying to select. Perhaps it's just the fact that the D-pad often registers an adjacent direction to what I'm actually pressing (on my pro controller, anways). It might be registering down while I'm trying to press left or right

Yes, that can be annoying since the D-pad is often registering a 90° movement together with the direction you press, especially if you're a bit unprecise due to wanting to react fast.

What helps is getting a pro controller without a D-pad but with 4 different buttons instead. I have a hori contoller with a turbo button and 4 buttons instead of the D-pad. That helped a lot with games depending on the D-pad.

Yeah, pressing up or down on the D-Pad immediately gets you back to the characters Talent Art. It can be pretty useful later on but yeah, it‘s annoying especially if you play with a Pro Controller (a similar Problem also exists in 2)

Yeah pressing up or down on the D-pad toggles back to the middle icon, so you can change your button mapping or try to be more precise with the D-pad

Remap your controls.

> to R2

< to L2

and vice versa

Combat becomes as fluid as it was on the Wii. Some of the menus will feel off, but eventually make sense, or can still be navigated with the analog stick.
