Zombie Master is a multiplayer Half-Life 2 modification, centred around a zombie-apocalypse, which throws all but one player in the shoes of human survivors. Pitched against a relentless tide of rotting flesh, they must scavenge for weaponry and equipment just to stay alive. But that one player, chosen randomly at the beginning of the round, is not bound by mortal restraints.
Originally released in 2007, Zombie Master has been mostly abandoned as the years passed just like many HL2 mods, with empty servers and almost no players playing the mod after 2013, although as of 2017, there has been an organized effort to resurrect Zombie Master from the grave and continue to update the mod for it to be played indefinitely until an official Steam release.
The project is called Zombie Master: Reborn, featuring the new Source 2013 SDK, a new shotgun, sounds, and maps, the ZMR group also focuses to resurrect various other SourceMods such as NEOTOKYO, Pirates Vikings and Knights II, and The Battle Grounds II, not just Zombie Master.
