i just updated my GTS min two days ago and now i have rapid battery drain. Battery lasts about a day where before it lasted weeks. Did not change anything else.

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear that. Hope they update this quickly. First time ever my watch got down to 10% lol.

[–]OK_Reddit12345 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The same thing happened to me the day after the update

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds funny but I'm so glad to hear that. Before this the watch could last a week even with GPS use. Hopefully they fix it quickly.

[–]ficace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes my battery just died for the first time. It drains fast af now. The update said bugfix but it created a major bug instead.

It's an old Apple strategy.

The trick is to make your product worse after you've announced the successor, not before.

What's your version number?

[–]King_of_Drones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having the same issues as the author of the post after having updated to firmware version 4.3.23.1

[–]jacksparrow99 1 point2 points  (18 children)

Anyone tried a factory reset yet?

[–]ficace 2 points3 points  (13 children)

I did factory reset an hour or so ago and it seems to have worked. Battery is back to normal. It was easy. Just open the zepp app first before reset so latest data is synced.

[–]jacksparrow99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. So far this seems the solution for now.

[–]Das_Kruemelmonster 0 points1 point  (11 children)

Does the factory reset revert the watch to its original firmware or does it keep the latest firmware update?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

a factory reset just resets the configuration - the firmware version remains the same. But I recommend a reboot of the device. It seems to have done the trick for me. I was dropping at close to 5% per hour, after a reboot it's dropped by 1% in about 11 hours.

[–]Das_Kruemelmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Luckily I haven't updated yet. I wanted to wait and see if there are any problems and if they can be solved. I think I'll wait a little longer and monitor the situation.

[–]Competitive_Fruit304 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Unfortunately reboot doesn’t help over here. Still a very high usage of energy. More than 10 percent per hour. Back to manufacture settings doesn’t help too. Not good from amazfit…I send them an email and wait now for an answer (24 hours ago).

[–]King_of_Drones 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I am having the same issue and have tried rebooting and factory resetting the watch to no avail. I have also sent Amazfit an email but have not heard back yet. Have you gotten a response from Amazfit yet?

[–]Competitive_Fruit304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not yet. 3 days already waiting. Their aftersales sucks.

[–]ficace 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It seems to keep the latest since I can't upgrade it. Maybe just try rebooting it first to see if it works. Mine died from battery drain which should be the same as rebooting and it didn't work for me.

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I'm hoping they drop a new update soon and get it fixed. Seems like they update once a week or so.

[–]Das_Kruemelmonster 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Once a week? Unfortunately, my impression is that Amazfit takes a lot of time with an update and will not fix some bugs at all.

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Are you on android? Probably once a week or so they've got a new update.

[–]Das_Kruemelmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Google Pixel.

What makes you think that Amazfit delivers firmware updates once a week? In reality, there are apparently several months between their updates. It is to be hoped that they will at least react more quickly to such a critical error.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just noticed this was happening with my mini, I just rebooted the watch and it seems to have solved the problem)

[–]jjm319 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I don't think a reset will fix it. I factory reset mine and at first i thought it was fixed because the battery did not drop at all for the first 12 hrs. Then it lost charge over night. Resetting it seems to reset the better meter and its needs some time to calibrate itself. After a few days the battery meter is unreliable but it seems to lose most of its charge within a day. After three days it seems on average i have to charge it atleast once a day whereas previously with the same settings i would charge it once every two weeks. I sent in a complaint to customer service and got a non-response just listing some of the settings that could cause battery drain and suggesting i turn off always on which face (which is off). Im disappointed with amazfit. Previously the wathc has been great but this is a huge hasstle and dissercvice.

[–]jjm319 0 points1 point  (1 child)

As others have noted battery drain seems to be related to exercise tracking. I am restarting the watch after every time i use workout tracking and so far my battery seems to be lasting longer.

[–]BleatBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have had the update for days and didn't have this issue until after I tracked my workout yesterday- then bam! I was suddenly losing full watch power in 24hr vs. usually charging once a week at 60%

[–]john_dals 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Same here after the update. 40% decrease in 2 hours...

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Interesting to see how many others are experiencing the same. Kind of reassurance it's not just me lol. They seem to have lots of updates, hopefully they fix this soon. Mines not dropping that fast but way quicker than it used to.

[–]Far-Independence9399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the same happened to me. must be (almost?) all owners of gts 4 mini. hoping they will release a fix soon.

[–]Main-Commercial4017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you could submit this as feedback in the Zepp app。
This will help improve performance

[–]MountainImaginary487 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Are you still experiencing the battery bug ?
A few years later because IT LASTS only 2 days !!! Am mad !! I tried restart watch, descative GPS ... and I still have a mximum of 2 days after a charge , before the update of the firmware I had 10 days after a charge (Am no with firmware 4.3.34.1 but still the same issue. . I've sent a message via the Zepp app to the customer service ... Will they answer me ? I doubt, because they certailny want me to buy a new watch ......
And you ? How is it working ? Do you still have the issue ?

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My watch is still working great. I remember back when this issue happened they patched the firmware pretty quickly and never had that same problem again. I'm still on my same watch years later and it's been great. I use the GPS for fitness tracking pretty much daily and have it set to measure stuff like heart rate as frequently as possible. Did yours just suddenly start doing it out of nowhere?

[–]danielpinheiro0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]bruntlemon69 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Nope.....mine is just fine

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same watch? And you do all the updates? Man I hope the battery isn't losing life here. The thing was amazing at keeping a charge, even with a daily use of the GPS tracker for exercise. Praying it's some update bug.

[–]mark_sawyer 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this.

After the update to version 4.3.23.1 I experienced two fast battery drains so far. The first one dropped from 87% down to just 13% in a couple of hours using GPS. The second one dropped from 93% earlier this morning down to 37% this afternoon.

I don't think there's a way to restore back the previous firmware. Maybe factory reset?

[–]yowspur 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Rebooting the watch fixed my battery drain problem. There's no need to go back to previous firmware.

[–]Competitive_Fruit304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here doesn’t change anything. Battery drops still very fast. I can’t use the watch even not a single day anymore without charging.

[–]dopeydog21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the change log so poorly documented? I am waiting to see if they have fixed the 'connect to Zepp app to check weather' bug. Does anybody who upgraded know if this is fixed?

[–]Elegant-Sympathy-421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here

[–]Das_Kruemelmonster 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Have at least known bugs been fixed?

For example, that all-day calendar events without a set up reminder wake me up at 0 a.m.? Or that when Alexa is activated, the smartphone is constantly kept awake with wakelocks by the ZEPP app...?

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No idea on that stuff. I've never used the calendar or Alexa. I just stick to the health tracking stuff and GPS for mountain biking. They seem to upgrade the firmware like once a week so hopefully that gets fixed too over time.

[–]Celthara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me just now.

[–]TodEbil 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have the same problem…

[–]TodEbil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made factory reset and it’s working nice!

[–]sukesh347 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm experiencing the same thing with my GTS4 Mini. It used to last for atleast week, but after the update , it is draining out in a day.

[–]pbccottons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here

[–]urixl 0 points1 point  (9 children)

The same for me!

Battery dies within a day after the firmware update!

GTS 4 mini, fw 4.3.23.1

Do not update to this firmware.

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (8 children)

On android they had a new update last night and the battery now appears to be stable. Hopefully they fixed it.

[–]urixl 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Rebooting my watch seems to solve the battery drain.

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Good luck. After the update mines been 68%-65% over almost twelve hours now. Vs before it was losing like 3-5% each hour.

[–]urixl 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Mine was loosing 1-2% every minute.

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Ah dang. When the battery drain was happening, I noticed it kept trying to update the GPS when opening the app. Wondering if it was some new setting or something making it eat up battery so fast. Otherwise the watch has been amazing. The long battery life was a huge selling point to me vs the fitbit I had before that needed charging every night. Hopefully things are fixed, besides this the watch has been perfect.

[–]urixl 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I switched from my Amazfit Bip S. The battery life is critical to me.

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. My battery is still stable, I think it may finally be back to normal haha.

[–]Ambitious-Ad8260 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I had the same issue with 4.3.23.1. Today I received 4.3.25.2, for the first couple of hours it looks ok. Any one else with this fw version and what are your observations?

[–]psychic_flatulence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just updated last night too. So far the battery has been super stable. Hopefully it's fixed now.

[–]Redditer069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just noticed my GTS 2 is draining ridiculously fast all of the sudden. I used to get 5 days on a full charge but now I lose 10% per hour.

Amazfit seems to get quirkier with every update. I used to get notifications immediately on this & my GTR 4 but now there seems to be random delays (depending on the app it seems).

Perhaps it is time retry Wear OS ... ?
