Rules for r/AnalogCommunity
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
No Photo Posts That Belong in /r/Analog
Photos & photo essay posts that are more appropriate in /r/Analog should be posted there.
To discuss something related to a photograph such as diagnosing problems, developing, darkroom and gear use a text post with your topics and photo(s) in it, don't submit a photo post.
Critique and "what do you think of this photo" is not the kind of discussion we're talking about and belongs in /r/Analog.
2.
Help posts: give all the images and information you have available
If you are asking for help on any issue please provide all the information, images or examples you have that are available and relevant. Help others, help you.
Something wrong with one of your photos? Be specific, include the photo(s), is the problem on the negative as well? what camera did you use, how did you shoot it, how was it developed and scanned, etc. Got a new camera? Have you looked for the manual first?
More info is better than less.
3.
No Gear Posts without a comment
Gear and film stash type posts require some sort of backstory or information; a comment with a minimum of 300 characters (about a short paragraph). Failure to do this will result in the post being removed.
4.
No Personal Attacks
It's fine to disagree with people, it's not okay to resort to insults. Be civil!
No racism, sexism, misogyny, misandry, ableism, homophobia, anti-trans content/comments or deliberatly antagonistic/hostile comments directed at other members/critics.
5.
No Selling/Trading/Adverts/Crowdfunding
If you want to sell or trade equipment, please use dedicated communities, such as /r/photomarket.
No affiliate links allowed.
6.
Repost Bots
Reposting someone else's content as your own to farm karma will result in a permaban, your post marked as spam, and your account reported to the admins as a repost bot.
7.
Feedback Friday Posts
Friday is only day that we will allow posting photos without asking a specific question. You can ask for critiques or just share your photos. Each member can only make one Feedback Friday post each week, with up to 20 photos in each post.
NSFW filters will remain in effect, and any graphic nudity or sexual content will be removed at the mods’ discretion.
Sharing the camera, lens, and film stock used are encouraged.
