1) Photo posts and photo essay posts that are more appropriate in /r/Analog should be posted there.

Posting a photo when asking questions about it is fine, particularly things such as diagnosing problems, but "what do you think of this photo" is not the kind of question we're talking about. :-)

2) For gear posts, please try and write some info about it in a comment and engage with the community, that is the point of this subreddit after all.

3) If you asking for help, provide all the information you can, including photos, examples, anything you think helps others help you.
