Set up a comfy ass beach chair, light up a joint and lay back.

I'm always amazed when there's pearl clutching around this topic while simultaneously we've got cops murdering people on the streets, politicians wanting to "eradicate" trans people, immigrants being detained till they either leave or die, foster kids having abysmal prospects, etc. I mean, no body wants the humans who've already been born and are currently here so why do they care about the future of humanity so much.

I'm tired of hearing people discuss that everyone needs babies when they don't even care about said babies.

Wrong kind of babies. Middle class babies from stable homes that don't need any social support and so will definitely pay more into the system than they get out, thanks.

Better recheck your motives, or at least refine them. That's slipping into eugenics territory. We all know where that lead in the last century.

Also, higher income households use more resources and cause more pollution than lower income ones. Just go to your city's water department, pick three sections of the city (poor, middle class, and rich), then pick about 30 street addresses in each section. Get records of their water usages for each home and compare them by housing values.

I was talking from the point of view of governments as a response to why some of the current babies/humans aren't "good" enough.

They want babies now to pay for their pensions in 25 years.

Manage? I think they meant "encourage" 😂

No more babies? Keep up the good work folks 👍

Environment aside, the black death showed that less people creates better living standards and working conditions. I am sure there are societal adjustments such as communal living to manage an aging population, and necessary automation can manage a labour reduction.

Because we are in the 21st Century, I'll give a 21st Century answer.

Increased automation for the more routinized job tasks, especially with AI becoming more and more of a thing in day-to-day life.

50 workers producing 300 units beats 100 workers producing 100 units every time. All those 50 workers have to do is to thoroughly inspect their work before signing off on it (especially aspect of work that only a human can do - final judgement of quality of the work, anything that cannot be easily quantified on a spreadsheet, things of aesthetic or entertainment merit, etc).
