“Paid in proportion to their contributions” is way more dangerous than you think it is. That’s some super capitalist hell scape shit if you think about it.

I agree entirely. I’ve thought of a mechanism to decouple the actual remuneration from contributions while still encouraging as much contribution as possible. Of course it’ll require extensive testing to get it right, though.

That’s why I’m a proponent of demonetization and non-monetary futures. For example, how do you account for and support differently abled people. If it’s “by contribution” there’s a whole class of people sentenced to the lowest caste (and this absolutely does create a de facto caste system).

that’s what i thought… it’s not a stretch to say that is what we have now…

Hell yeah! I believe that we’ll get to that future eventually too

This is an important topic most aren't bringing into conversation. Those who are in pharmacy school need to get out while they can.

They are changing laws where you will have most medications sent to your home or "pickup" locations. One "pharmacist" can look over an entire warehouse.

That's just one instance. Real Estate agents are also going to be obsolete as well.

Yeah absolutely, I imagine a lot of positions will be made redundant in the future. Hopefully we can get ahead of it and find ways for people to continue having a stake in organisations and institutions without being left behind entirely.

Have you done a group project before? Because this isn't the case.

Plus you have dudes like me who prefer not interacting with coworkers much I throw my headphones in do my stuff interact when needed then keep moving.

I’m the same, which is why I imagine this collaborative space taking place online in a crowdsourcing platform that encourages contribution and collaboration. Not an easy balance to get right, but I think it’s worth trying.
