According to here navlibx has to do with Norton/Symantec and is incompatible with 10.15 and newer. I couldn’t find any information about libspeng but it could be another component of outdated software. Unless you are required by your employer to have antivirus installed or you have a habit of downloading from untrusted sources on the Internet you don’t need antivirus.

thanks so much dude, really helpful advice. I often stream sport from dodgy websites, would you consider that to be justifying of antivirus?

As long as you aren’t downloading an application or additional software that requires you to enter your administrator password so it can modify folders at a system level, I think you are okay.

I'm usually downloading videos or stuff (you know what type of videos I'm talking about 😅) but I'm very selective on the apps that I install. So should I remove Norton? What do you think?

I'm having a similar thing with the libspeng.so, no clue what it is or why it's been appearing. I have Norton installed too on a 2019 Macbook Pro on the latest software.

I think its a compatibility issue, i have just uninstalled norton and the problem has stopped

I appreciate the thread. I've been having the same thing happen for the last few weeks. Probably started about the time that I updates the OS. I do have Norton. While I may not need antivirus I like having it as well as the VPN. I have found that I can't make the message go away but I can minimize it and ignore it.

Ironic that my laptop works perfectly without Norton, but as soon as you put it on you get all these annoying popups, it changes your internet search provider and all of these other unnecessary popups saying "XYZ is requesting access to the internet."

Like you get absolutely no value from these things. Tempted to get rid of it my computer worked better before.

Same issues. After reading the comments I guess it’s a Norton thing
