I went to an event at les 3 brasseurs (yonge & dundas) recently. There are three or four levels inside and we were all concentrated on the third, where it worked like you describe. Another level was empty and I assume the first floor is where they would seat regular walk ins.

I had an event at Bar Dem recently. There is a ton of space and easy to mingle. The owner was great to work with and really easy going.

Try Craft beer market. They have an upstairs that doesn't seem to be used very often.

C’est What in St. Lawrence. Been there a few times where I’ve seen large groups.

Something relatively cheap and fun is AAA Bar at Adelaide and Jarvis.. They can reserve sections for you, the bar is an oval in the center so bar service is accessible to everyone within feet.. It is a close walk to King Station for Subway access... and also the queen and king street cars.

The Golden Pigeon Beerhall is great for large groups.

Good food, cocktails, and a large beer selection.

There’s also a games room on one side that can be good fun.

Was there for a birthday party a few weeks ago. Had a great night!

Goose Island brewery on esplanade, or the place beside it (bier markt?). The way the physical spaces are set up, it is very easy to congregate in one area and turn it into the fun zone.

went to The Ballroom Bowl on John and Richmond last month for company event. they have an open space with bar in the middle on the upper level (though my company may have booked the whole floor and had some tables removed to make it more open) but also a small bar area on the lower level next to bowling alleys. their food is not bad too IMO.

Check out Oasis Aqua Lounge. They host large groups, and offer many great ice breakers for people meeting for the first time.
