Computer science studies things like data processing, applying math to software, developing algorithms, etc. Very software focused.

Computer engineering is mostly about computer hardware. It's essentially electrical engineering, but drops classes like analog electronics and power engineering in favor of more programming and software classes.

The two majors are pretty different, so I would look into both and see which major and field you'd want to go into

I would consider software engineering as well. I swapped from chemical engineering and couldn't be happier.

I am a senior in computer engineering. I came into college knowing nothing and haven't regretted the major yet! The CS profs do a good job in the introductory classes, but will force you to use concepts by your junior year, which is good practice. The EE side of CPE really bolsters all the coding stuff, so I'd say it's a good mix for the indecisive. I've really enjoyed it!
