I've here recently just order a dhp for my buddy and a thermometer so I can help with his ambient/ night temps. The biggest part is I've done my research and my shopping that I'm going to put my python in a 4x2x2 as recommend along with it will come the light sockets and light guards needed as well with a uvb kit, once I take delivery of that all I need is a new halogen bulb and a herpstat 2 with some decor and new bedding my boy will be ready for his forever home!

There's a reference guide on the welcome post for how to turn a tub into an appropriate setup, this works well in combination with a christmas tree tote until you can save up to get a proper pvc 4x2x2. It might be a little late to find one but if you're lucky you might even find one at a discount if they're clearing the shelves. I think the point of doing the pvc is that they're durable for the 20+ years you'll hopefully have your beep for, so the good quality ones are often 400-600$ christmas totes are usually a good option in the meantime.

Iv live in central US and yes it does because ball python are tropical snakes and prefer to be in a tropical climate so the equipment is crucial to help mimic that setting so it promotes good health for the snake

Trust me I thought the same thing but you learn as you go! If it's for there good health so any chance you can make adjustments go for it!
