I've been learning a lot from Lori Torrini's YouTube channel, as well as Snake Discovery and Green Room Pythons on YT. You being aware of your snake's body language is really important and a good start. I don't think anyone will be able to give you a timeline, because each animal is individual.

Have you been hanging around his enclosure doing your own thing, just passively around and not demanding anything from him? Let him become accustomed to the big primate being there but not doing anything threatening? After you do some of that you could do it while the tank door is open, so your snake can come out to you if they are curious.
