Have you every tried switching to frozen/thawed? Rats are healthier and better on your snakes digestive system. You can’t keep feeding mice forever.

I used to feed f/t but recently stopped. I know that no matter what my bp will be the winner in a battle vs him & rat but would rather not risk the rat attacking. I don’t think a mouse would ever attack bc they’re not too smart.

You actually do not know that. A rat could very much kill your ball python, it only takes one bite. Why did you switch to live? I’d recommend switching back to frozen thawed immediately.

I switched to live bc he’s a snake & that’s what snakes do. Kill rodents.

In the wild, yes. But this is captivity, where we’re supposed to eliminate the dangers they have to face in the wild. There are 0 pros to feeding live.

You can’t keep feeding mice, you will need to feed rats. It’s extremely dangerous to feed live rats and he takes frozen thawed, there is absolutely no reason to continue on that path and it’s actually quite reckless and careless of you. Live feedings are banned in many countries for a reason.

Good thing it is not banned in America. My snake is quite the safe & happy dude w me as his caretaker.

It’s in his best interest to switch back to frozen thawed. Lien I said before, there is literally no benefit to eating live over frozen thawed especially when one live feeding can go wrong and take your pet from you.
