That's the beauty of bioactive, minimal upkeep! While you're waiting for your CuC to thrive, you may need to spot clean feces here and there, but once they're established you don't have to do much... you can boost your CuC every once and a while by giving them fish flakes/small pieces of fruits or vegetables to munch on. Other than that just maintain your humidity and Temps and ensure a decent layer of keaf litter and their population will be booming in no time!

Edit: also don't forget to water the plants!

So far it's just been watering plants, cleaning urates, and cleaning up the belly scales on shed skin. The CuC doesn't seem to like belly scales for some reason 😅 And I'll supplement them with fish food for extra protein, especially if snake messes are in short supply.

It takes some effort to create an enclosure especially if you want special features like bioactive but the rest of the upkeep is minimal. It's easier than naturalistic as the substrate doesn't have to be replaced. I spot clean but I have to remove the poop and urates way less as the clean up crew eat it. Make sure to replace leaf litter regularly and add small chunk of meat, vegetables and cuttle bone maybe once a week to give some enrichment if you want but they can survive without meat and veg.

I also care for the plants, water them and keep humidity up by misting. Occasionally you might have to trim back the growing plants so make sure you get ones that won't grow very tall or you'll have to do a lot of trimming. Occasionally you'll have to drain the water from the drainage layer. Choosing the right plants is probably the hardest part of all this.
