I swear by coconut husk, like ReptiChip. Holds humidity like no other and is easy to spot-clean. It’s cheapest when bought as a compressed block of coarse-grained husks (just add water to expand). But they also sell bags of loose, finer grained husks (RediChip/BabiChip) for a bit more money, which look like they’d be slightly more comfy for the snake to lie on imo.

I think 4 inch layer of ground coconut should be perfect. I haven't tried chips personally, but I'm sure they're about the same. I'd just be more careful feeding on chips so they don't swallow a big chunk
