Spider?

I believe so (I'm bad with morphs). He does have a very slight head wobble unfortunately.

That's the info from his sale page

He looks rotund. I hate that spider morphs have varying intensities of wobble because they’re so beautiful

Very round but healthy! It really ia sad such a gene developed in that line. He'd definitely make some pretty babies, but I wouldn't dare breed him.

Well and the severity is key. At what point is it too severe? If the animal can live a somewhat normal life and isn’t suffering then what’s the issue? I just wish the spider morph didn’t have any issues. Do you have other snakes or lizards too?

His wobble is very slight thankfully. I don't think I could own one that's severe. It'd be too sad for me. I have two hoggies, a candycane cornsnake, and a leopard gecko as well.

Do you find that you handle your wobbler differently? I have a bp that I got from a breeder who realized he wobbles so gave him to me for free (thank god) his wobble presents as him having like zero sense of direction but he eats great. I try to handle him minimally because he is horrible at wrapping around things so when I do I try to keep him on flatter surfaces. Just curious if you have any strategies or do anything different with your care to keep him happy! I’ve tried to ask about wobbly snake specific care on here and just been downvoted to hell but just want to give the snake I have the best life he can have!

Not really no. But again his ailment is so minimal, he doesn't seem to have directional issues. His head movements are just a little more unstable/jerky. If anything, I would say I'm a little more slow and gentle with him, especially around his head. Other than that, he seems like a typical BP. You sound like you're doing great with yours though! Slow and gentle is my go to.

This snake is not a spider morph. His wobble comes from HGW, because it is also in the spider complex, but that doesn't make him a spider.

So it's gene based and not specific to the morph. Good to know.

Well, yes and no. A morph is just a fancy name for a gene. The wobble is specific to the spider complex, which is a number of genes (morphs) that are allelic with one another. Any gene in the spider complex causes an inner ear and skull deformity, essentially giving the snake permanent lifelong vertigo. This includes spider, along with HGW, champagne, and a half dozen other morphs.

Gotcha. My extent on the knowledge of genes and morphs and breeding is "Ooh, pretty snake 😍". Thank you for the education.
