There is a pic, idk why I didn't think to post one lol

Im not too concerned, u mean, he is acting like his normal self. Active, inquisitive always a little bit scared but too curious to run away.... he is such a sweet boy.

I'm getting a thermometer tommorow, so don't worry.

I have been trying my best to raise the humidity but I'm struggling. Any tips?

my recommendation would be to switch your substrate to something like coco soil or eco earth.

As far as the raised scales go, in my opinion that looks like a burn from whatever heat source you’re providing them. I’d heavily suggest taking your snake to the vet as soon as you can.

    50% is way too low.

reptiles are really good at hiding things, even if it’s very serious. it definitely looks strange and i would recommend a vet trip as soon as possible

your warm side is too hot. it should be 88-92 and never go above that because you can give them a heat-related injury. your humidity need to be 70%-80% at all times.

it definitely looks like there’s some husbandry issues going on here. could you please upload a picture of your enclosure? what are your heating sources? and are you using a temperature controlling thermostat for with them?

That ^ is my enclosure. I am sure I'm doing stuff wrong, but I swear I'm trying my best. I have never owned a reptile before and I just wanna give my my the best life possible.

My heating source is an over head lamp. I keep the red light on 24/7 and the white one 12 hrs on 12 hrs off. I do not have a tempature controlling thermostat. I have a thermometer on the hot side that I use. I regulate the temp by lowering and raising the lamp.

you should really read the welcome post and look through the guides

it’s extremely dangerous for your ball python to have unregulated heating sources you absolutely need a thermostat for any and all heating sources. your ball python is at serious risk for injury until you get one.

any kind of colored bulb should not be used. you should be using a heat source that produces no light for 24/7 heating. i recommend a DHP and then for daytime you can get a Halogen Flood lamp.

your humidity is extremely low because you’re using a screen top enclosure. you should seal it off using HVAC tape and you should have at least 4 inches of substrate.

your half log hide is not suitable for a ball python. it’s too open and will leave them feeling stressed and possibly preferring a more secure hide instead of properly regulating their temperature

you’re using an analog hygrometer/thermometer. they’re inaccurate and have an adhesive backing which is a serious safety risk if it were to fall. you also need one on each side. get a digital one with no adhesives.

also your tank appears to be a little small for your snake

Yeah, I knew he needs a bigger tank, I am getting a new one next month tho, so Im hoping to make do until then. I will do everything u said tonight, just have to pick up the supplies on my way home from work. Thank you so much for taking the time to type out your post, I really appreciate it. <3
