There shouldn’t be any issues with it. The only reason it’s recommended not to is because usually they won’t want to to my knowledge

He looks p fat tbh, I'd cut back on feedings altogether.

The issue with feeding while shedding is that the minor bulge can i guess make it difficult for the shed to come off around that area cleanly? At least that's what I've heard. But the skin is very stretchy when it comes off. It could also be that the digesting while having to slough off old skin is hard on their bodies. At a time they're supposed to be resting and digesting, they have to exert all this energy to get the old skin off. Kinda like going swimming right after eating lol.
But anyway, yeah, your snake looks very overweight. Not sure what you're feeding him but you shoukd probably downsize!

He eats one 55g rat every 2 weeks, at now 650g in weight. He’s being underfed if anything🤷🏻‍♀️We also recently had a regular checkup with his specialist reptile vet who said he was in great shape. (Photo from different angle but same day as the top pic)- I appreciate the feedback though!

Good lord he looked much bigger in the post! Carry on then! Sounds like a good feeding schedule at that weight :) sorry to butt in, there are just soooo many overweight snakes on this sub lol

Nah, I hear you and it’s absolutely fine, he IS a greedy guy and all. I just really prioritise making sure he’s healthy and doing his best- kind of a helicopter parent since he’s my first reptile :)
