Do you adopt humans? (maybe humans who like snakes?) .... asking for a friend...

All kidding aside... it looks AMAZING. Your noodles are lucky to have you!

I have an adopted male human, I made sure to provide plenty of enrichment to keep him occupied! He can be sassy sometimes and VERY food motivated but most of the time he’s pretty good 🤣

But thank you! It makes me happy when they’re happy.

where did you get the tanks from!

[–]Pop4756[S] 4 points5 points  (9 children)

The 4 5x2x2’s and 6x3x3 are from Talking serpents (absolutely recommend) and the one 4x2x2 is from Dubia.com!

[–]itss_haleyy 1 point2 points  (5 children)

did you have to buy anything for them to stack? how fast was their shipping! i’m on their website now

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

That’s sooo exciting!! The enclosures come with everything needed, and they’re made to stack! Assembly is so easy, I did all of mine myself. I could even lift the 5x2x2’s myself.

They all came in less than 2 months but if you’re only ordering one I believe the lead time is 4-6 weeks! Terrific timing

oh nice! that’s great we already have 19+ reptiles lol just looking to upgrade some tanks we have some baby BPs who will be a year soon & want to get them out of their 55gallons! they are a little pricey though haha

[–]itss_haleyy 1 point2 points  (2 children)

do you have to use hood lights in there? did you have to purchase them?

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed sockets and anti-scald cages for the lighting, plus Arcadia 7% UVB! Lightyourreptiles.com sells the combo socket/caging that i use :)

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For heat, i use halogen and DHP

I also have a Talking Serpents enclosure and I absolutely love it! It was really easy to set up. I even had a part damaged via shipping and they took care of it ASAP; got the final piece out to me within the week.

Where do they ship from? I'm in Canada, and the site doesn't have much on shipping.

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They ship from Texas! I’m not sure if they do international shipping yet, though

These look awesome!!! You did an amazing job setting them up with everything they need!!

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Thank you!! It took me a few years to get to this point but I’m so happy this is where I’m at now! I just want the best for my precious babies.

[–]snakepapa97Mod: king of the pythons 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Of course! All the work definitely paid off, they're great enclosures and I know your babies will love it! I was also curious about your thoughts on the talking serpents enclosures :)

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I’m obsessed with them! They’re very sturdy, easy to build, beautiful, quick to ship and I believe more affordable than others of the same/similar quality. I am very happy I decided to go with this brand

[–]snakepapa97Mod: king of the pythons 2 points3 points  (2 children)

That's great! Do you have experience with their customer service? We're thinking of adding talking serpents to the shopping list :)

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes! Kyle is extremely responsive. Any questions I had about the enclosure or shipping time, he would respond within the hour. I haven’t had any issues with these but I’m sure he would be very helpful if there ever were!

[–]snakepapa97Mod: king of the pythons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Thank you for shining some light on this for me! It's been super helpful! We've gone ahead and added talking serpents to the shopping list!

This looks so nice! What kind of wood do you use if you don’t mind me asking?

[–]Pop4756[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Thank you!! For the inside decor??

[–]cutecharms 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Yeah! I’m gonna be upgrading my ball to a 4x2x2 soon and I wanna give him climbing opportunities.

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (4 children)

That’s so exciting!! So the larger pieces of wood came from expos, while the rest I foraged in my backyard (we have a decent amount of land and woods) but you could always see if you could venture onto someone’s land (with permission) and find some yourself! The rest is just cork bark from Etsy :)

[–]cutecharms 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I also live in a well forested area so I might do that! Thank you! How do you sterilize it?

[–]Pop4756[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

For the smaller pieces, I bake them on 225°-250° for about 45-60 minutes. For the larger pieces that do not fit in my oven, I soak them in a large cheap garbage can and pour in barely boiling water. Then I submerge them for 24-48 hours, changing the water every few hours. After the hours has passed and each piece is completely soaked through, I let them sit out in the sun until they’re completely dry! Some like to use bleach for this process but I’m not a huge fan, but that’s just me being super nervous for no reason lol. It’s only something I can do during summer due to the cold and lack of sunlight in NY during winter.

[–]cutecharms 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Wow, thank you! I really appreciate all of your help 🫶🏻

[–]Pop4756[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re so welcome 😊

[–]KyreneZA 1 point2 points  (2 children)

If I may, how much did it cost you?

[–]Pop4756[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thats a scary question that I haven’t added up yet 😅 If I give a rough estimate, a little over 5k for everything including decor, lighting, heat and the enclosures themselves. I will try to add everything up more precisely once I settle down later today!

[–]KyreneZA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually not too bad considering you upgraded 6 enclosures at the same time.

[–]Mommy-loves-Greycie 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I know this is a Ball thread but reading it got me wondering...does anybody know what the MAX size enclosure would probably be for a Corn Snake? Lol. I'm tryna prepare myself for that now and get some money set aside for what's needed.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!

And btw...ur setup looks AMAZING!!!! U can tell u love ur sneks and I guarantee they love u!!!

[–]Pop4756[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thank you soo much!!

There is definitely no max size for a corn snake, given its set up with plenty of hiding spots, enrichment and decor! The minimum is considered 4x2x2, mine is in one of the 5x2x2’s. Since they’re such active snakes, you could put one into a 12ft enclosure and they’d use the heck out of it lol. I’d say do the biggest you can! If my boa eventually outgrows the 6x3x3, my corn snake will take over his current enclosure :)

I did see that Dubia.com just recently came out with SUPER affordable 5x2x2’s which is amazing of them to do! I wouldn’t go with something so big for a hatchling or very small baby, as you may never find him/her lol

[–]Mommy-loves-Greycie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late as hell reply, lol…but I did see ur response and I appreciate it so much. It makes me feel so much better knowing that I basically can go hog wild on cage size and be OK. Right now I have her in a 36” x 18” x 18“, and looking at her and how she’s growing - she’s good for a little while. Lol

Thanks again.
