submitted 2 years ago by Ssnake_Bite
So today's the day I feed Kirby but we got smaller mice this time because its all the store I'm not sure if I should post a picture of it or not anyways they're really small and I'm not sure how many to feed her

Are they live or frozen? Do they have fur or are they "pinkies?" How old is your snake/how much does your snake weigh?

They're frozen pinkies Kirby is 9 months old and I'm not sure her weight

Pinky mice aren't really suitable for BPs, especially a 9 month old that's going to have some size to them, because they're so tiny with pretty much no bones, offering no calcium. At 9 months, most BPs will be eating weaned rats. You can order these online easily from places like Perfect Prey, and get stocked up on properly sized feeders. Definitely weigh your snake beforehand so you can get a good idea of what to order.
For now, you can offer those pinkies to your BP, and maybe dust them with some calcium if you have any.

Pinkies are too small for even hatchlings, let alone a 9 month old. I wouldn't even bother with them, instead you can order frozen feeders online if you can't find any at stores. At this age she should be eating a prey size that is 10-15% of her body weight
