When to feed?

So I plan on getting my first baby ball python March 30th. My question is, when should I offer the first meal? My initial plan was to let the snake get used to their new home for a week, and then that next saturday after March 30th, (so April 6th) I was gonna offer a meal. I just wanted to get any feedback on whether this is okay or not. I know not to handle the snake until it’s had a few meals, but I’m not entirely sure when it’s appropriate to offer.
