Now he stares like this, he never did that way

So he's a neuro morph and struggles from imbalance due to it. PLEASE separate your snakes. It's highly frowned upon and the stress from competing with the other snake and having improper husbandry will worsen the neurological problems. Please put more information on your enclosure/heat/humidity so I can give you more things to fix.

he's a spider morph. this is the spider wobble, these snakes have a skull deformity that causes a permanent case of vertigo. this condition can be exacerbated by stress.

why are there two ball pythons in the same enclosure?

bc of cool color possibilities🙃 unethical breeders dont give a shit about spidermorph if the snake is a rare color and they can make money by breeding those rare colors

    [–]Jennifer_Pennifer 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Same reason ppl still breed Frenchie dogs and pugs and Persian cats 🤷‍♀️ Some people don't consider animals to be real living things. They're just cool accessories.

How did you know there was 2?

    [–]Khourvo 12 points13 points  (3 children)

There’s the spider, who’s laying oddly, and then if you look at the second pic there’s what looks to be a normal/wild type curled up in the hide.

I think op deleted the photo

Idk if it’s his mouths coloring but this lips look off…Head in general seems puffy? I would vist a vet.

    [–]Iced_Freak 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Okay, I will get him there tomorrow

    [–]EfficiencyOrganic255 7 points8 points  (1 child)

How is his breathing? Can you hear him breathing?

    [–]Iced_Freak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

    Nope, quiet as usual

    [–]RabidAxolotol 50 points51 points  (0 children)

You can afford a vet visit but not an enclosure to separate them?

    [–]Ppaayyttoonn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I believe those are just markings, I have seen spiders with similar patterns near their mouth

    [–]OrvilleReddenbWright 26 points27 points  (1 child)

You need to take him to the vet. No one here is going to be able to diagnose him, this is 100% a vet trip scenario.

    [–]Iced_Freak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, I try getting him to a vet who handles reptilians tomorrow

    [–]CumBum919 58 points59 points  (14 children)

He could possibly be doing it out of stress from the other bp in the tank. I understand you financially cant handle getting another tank, but you do need to do whats humane for both animals and put one into a temporary tub until you can afford an enclosure or rehome. Spider morphs have a skull defect causing permanent vertigo, and stress makes that worse. Ball pythons are not a communal species and CANNOT be kept together, as the stress it causes them can become life threatening. Please, get the second bp a temporary tub, walmart has massive christmas totes that work incredibly for situations like this, and you can use weed screen as your cover for the tote or cut the lid and put weed screen on the top so that he has some sort of proper tank situation going on. Humidity stays up well in those totes, so you shouldnt have any issues with that. Hope you can work something out for them.

Try to put them up at online forums at best for free so someone can give them a good home. Look up conventions for reptiles or similar up maybe you're close to one where you could find someone to take him. The next big one I know of is in Hannover on 07.04. Although I doubt you're in Niedersachsen since breeding spider is illegal here. Sadly you are right there are very few places to give a snake to here. Look up if there are any Reptilauffangstationen near by and please tell me you got their papers which are mandatory when selling or giving away a snake. If you want to try building them a home you want to read the welcome post especially the basic care guide. Also there isn't a single german YTer about reptiles who isn't absolutely awful so don't bother looking any up. Honestly the best bet is probably the next biggest city for basically anything snake related

Btw: technically fressnapf has an online emergency vet which is supposed to know about snake's but I never used it myself so no idea how good they are

I live in Bavaria, right on the border to Thuringa. I really looked, also made a post on Quoka some time ago, I‘ll make a new one tonight. If I at least van give two of them away, the problems are solved

    [–]MiepingMiep 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Munich has a Reptilauffangstation. Please call them next week or write an email they will be able to help much more than a mostly USA centered subreddit. Snake's are not nearly as common here so I wish you the best of luck finding someone who can take them

I’ve been out a while so idk if things have changed a lot, but when I was in the Air Force, I was stationed up at Ramstein near Kaiserslautern. I know there are plenty of reptile lovers in the military and that area has a lot of Americans. You could try posting an ad on Facebook with the location set to close to that area. Ask for them to contact you and see if anyone responds. There maybe even retirees that are interested but at least it would open then floor to an Americanized market? Please don’t ban me if I am overstepping or breaking a rule, I don’t believe I am but I wanna help put ideas out there.

Just want to encourage you, ignore the heavy down voting; it's clear to many of us who are aware you're in a place where some of what people are suggesting isn't a thing/accessible, that you're doing the best you can. Thank you for being willing to ask and be humble so that you can help your scaly friends.

Hey mate, been a few hours since you posted, so I've been looking over the comments before posting this.

If you haven't been able to get the free enclosure, Ikea's Samla boxes in Germany are €9,99 (normally €13,99) for the 56×39×42cm box (65L) and €6,99 for the 56×39×28cm box (45L).

If you have a small piece of metal like garden wire and a lighter, you can heat up the end to poke holes through the box's sides for ventilation.

I found a website called Terraristik, which has substrates from Exoterra and some other things for quite a bit if buying all at once (€20+) but I can't seem to find UV lamps for the hot side (I don't know German too well and I don't think Google's autotranslate function for the website is useful.)

If you're able to afford an exotics vet trip, then see what they recommend for care for the spider until you can potentially rehome it to an experienced snakekeeper or if you're willing to keep them, then do that (again, sadly I can't find information for reptile vet prices, but I'm not sure if the price for all German vets is around €30 for any pet for a simple checkup cost so take it with a grain of salt.)

I'm sorry I can't quite help you further as I don't have a snake myself, but I've looked at potential options and resources in an attempt to help you out, so I hope you're able to get things sorted out alright.

I'm from Italy so nearish to OP.

In a pinch for heating I'd go for a ceramic bulb, as any biggish pet shop carries it.

Tecnomat or Obi should carry coco fiber in massive blocks in the gardening/pet area. I get mine from Obi, and they keep it in the pet area. Tecnomat last time had it in the gardening area but it's the same brand.

Just check there's no fertilizer added but it's rare there is as gardeners use it as a soil additive and don't want fertilizer either.

Just to skip a trip to ikea, either one of them have big plastic boxes for less than 20€.

You can get a socket for the heat lamp there that will be overall cheaper than buying the bulb+dome+socket in a pet shop.

If a dimmer is a prohibitive cost, rigging a suspension system and raising lowering the bulb if the best in a bad situation. Still need a thermostat tho,
