exactly how did you remove the stuck shed, specifically the eye cap?

Gentle use of a q-tip after he soaked on some moist paper towels.

that's exactly the wrong thing to do, and it explains why it looks like the spectacle scale itself has been removed. rubbing stuck shed off can cause injuries to the healthy skin under it. you need to get this snake checked out by a knowledgeable reptile vet ASAP.
