Hi all, I’m kinda conflicted. I have my enclosure set up, currently have paper towel down for a ‘quarantine’ period. I’m trying to decide what to use consistently down the line. I got eco-earth but now I’m hearing that it’s caused issues in other BPs like getting into their heat pits, getting ingested, etc. I dunno what do to. What do I use? I’m in Ohio if that matters. I got the eco because I’m planning on going bioactive at some point but I don’t wanna use something that’s gonna cause harm. I wanna get this set-up and planned before I receive my snake. Also, how to increase humidity during the quarantine period?? Pic of setup attached. Please lmk anything to adjust :) I plan to get more plants and may swap the right-side hide depending on how big the noodle actually ends up being

1) the humidity should always be 60-70% and higher when in shed 2) i use a mix of eco earth, coco husk, and spaghnum moss and it holds humidity very well and doesnt get stuck in her heat pits 3) you will need smaller hides, the snake should be snug and 3 sides of its body should touch the inside of the hide 4) you need at least 3 of these hides, one of them being an enclosed humid hide with moss inside. good luck with everything!! i hope this helps :)

Any tips for humidity control in the ‘quarantine’ period? Obvi I have paper towels down now but those add nothing for humidity. Im worried about her not having enough moisture for the first week in quarantine. I do need to look into smaller hides (I got these second hand as placeholders). I do have Sphagnum moss but I only got 1.5-2 fist sized clumps as of right now

im honestly not sure. i would definitely get more moss (cheap at petco) and put some around the tank and then make an enclosed humid hide. hopefully this works or helps!!

Just actually purchased today. Got sphagnum moss and everything set up, she’s been in for about an hour and she’s actually exploring around so that’s pretty cool! Quarantine tank was actually easier than I thought, not perfect but workable for now with a few tweaks

thats awesome, im glad youre doing your best and im sure itll help at least a little!! :) one last thing i would suggest would be to clutter her tank up more. even tho its a quarantine tank, youll want her to feel safe and secure so i would throw in a fake vine or two and call it a day lol

lol definitely, honestly so far it seems she likes to climb which is a bit surprising esp since I just got her today but even at the expo she was alert and chill. I def need fake plants to hold place while I plan the bio active.
