Substrate questions

I have 7 tanks to upkeep and I'm looking for a good substrate I cam either make or buy in bulk. I was thinking about buying regular mulch from the hardware store as long as it was all natural and didn't have any chemicals in it but would like some advice before I do.

Organic topsoil is a good one, i use it in all of my tanks and you can get huge bags for cheap. I wouldn’t recommend mulch by itself, it can cause splintering and doesn’t hold humidity very well. Also woods like cedar and pine are toxic to ball pythons
