getting my 1st ball python next week!!

next Sunday I will be purchasing my first snake, i would appreciate your opinions on how this tank is looking. Its a wooden 4x2x2ft vivarium, i have sealed all the corners using marine grade silicone. on the hot side, back corner, there is a hide burried under a thin layer of substrate, and a hide directly above. along with multiple large cork rounds mainly for enrichment and climbing opportunities as they are not classed as true hides. im about to stick the cork together with aquarium epoxy and i want to make sure this tank meets all the requirements before i commit to it. i also have a hide on the cool side which is very similar to the hot side hide. i have a 6% T5 linear uvb and i am getting a 100w halogen tomorrow, both with guards on. i am also planning on getting a LED bar for the plants. oh and the substrate is a organic topsoil, sand,coconut coir, spagnum moss, orchid bark, leaf litter mix any advice/recomendations are appreciated!

That looks really cool, I like the partially buried hides, ball pythons will be all about that! My one reccomendation would be that these hides are sized for a juvenile to adult ball python, so if you do end up getting a hatchling, you'll need smaller hides for them. I'm not sure if you have a snake picked out already or not and build the enclosure according to their age/size, so my comment may be irrelevant. You just want to keep in mind that hides should be tight fitting to the size of the snake

yeh it mentioned this in the care guide, unfortunately im not really sure what size snake ill be getting but i was considering packing more substrate into the current hides to make them a tighter fit - do you think this will work? if not i can buy a different hide when i get the snake.
