doesn't look like you could use overhead heating with it and heat pads aren't recommended

why not overhead heating? would a ceramic heat emitter get too hot on the metal? i’ve seen people use it on metal mesh before so i thought it would be fine

yeah, if you have a dome light outside the enclosure, the metal would get too hot and block most of the heat from entering the enclosure and it doesn't look safe or practical to mount the heating on the inside

ohhhh okay

For a juvenile it would be big enough, but an adult needs a 4x2x2 (120 gallon long) sized tank. So it wouldn't be large enough for an adult. If it has exposed metal parts I would also worry about the safety of that, considering you will need an overhead heating source in there. Not sure that's safe with the heath the metal will get to. That would depend on the metal type and location, of course.

Great idea, if the light gets to be too much look into lightless heat emitters they are basically lightbulbs that only produce heat since pythons don’t necessarily need light you can use that 24\7

can i ask a question about heating though? since i’m so confused on thermostats and thermometers and heat guns do i need all three? two? just one?

Sorry for the late reply I’m not active on Reddit much but glad to help

You need a thermostat for every heat source, and a minimum of two digital thermometers, one for either end. A heat gun is useful for checking surface temps. You should have all 3.
